Wow. This sort of fic usually leaves me too uncomfortable to finish...I dunno if it was the seeping memory loss, seeing one of the guys hurt by something other than a physical wound? But I couldn't put it down, had to have closure, needed you to make it better. *shudders*

Thanks so much for commenting. This was the most horror I've ever gone with my writing. It creeped me out along the way! The key was that it was preseries and so we all know Dean will be okay. And I always think of him as strong and love writing him that way. He showed a lot of strength in this tale, I think.

That was great casefic!! I really enjoyed it and hope you write more :-) I like the soap bubble structure, the way you framed it in canon and that you followed all your threads all the way through. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thanks. This was my first real casefic and I was nervous about it. Never heard the term "soap bubble structure" before. I can guess what it means though by your context. I'm huge on making sure there aren't any extra words -- that everything mentioned is "used." I went crazy on this when writing my longest story, The Road to Detroit.

IMO :-), soap bubble structures are round (you end in the vicinity of where you started) and transparent (if you're looking) with clear themes, metaphors, and maybe touchpoints that are carried right through to the end. They are not particularly easy to write and imo, you did a great job :-)

Thanks for explaining. I did this w/o knowing the formal name. Detroit is definitely a soap bubble structure, and was crafted carefully as such. I'd be very curious as to your reaction to it. My goal was to answer the question: what is winning. Among other questions. I have many words that repeat (touchpoints). Someone "looking" would have a field day :)
