Once the Shadow had returned with her map, and enough copies for everyone else, Myra bowed out and returned to Ming's apartment above the shops. She found herself left with hardly an hour before the day started, so she brewed a potent kettle of tea and got an early start on her day

Although he has a habit of being in the right places at the right times, in the grander scheme of things this seems to be the major redeeming quality of Johnny Liu. Whatever is asked of him, he does, but he lacks ambition and is inclined to laze about when he doesn't have any particular orders. He's an affable enough fellow, but too apathetic to make any real allies among Ming's crew

He was proud of the armor. He'd rejected a few designs as being utterly impractical, if completely awesome and terrifying

By the time the armor is finished, Courtney is in awe of Metody's craft, not to mention his generosity. She's seen golems of wood and bone, and even one of her beloved house goblins, Boniface, wears a skull-like visage, but she's never seen anything quite like Herlinde. She didn't expect the armor to be so...alive. After letting it creep into place around her, she spends a few minutes asking Metody if it's really okay for her to wear it, stroking the planes of bone and enamel carefully. It's safe to say she's grateful for the gift
