England was not the only one who was suffering from problems amongst memories. With each session, with each faux pas therapy session, he felt the days slipping away and the ability to remember clearly the events of the passing weeks in-between harder and harder to clarify even with everything written down. Those papers were stacked up high now and fill the desk. Everything was in his native hand yet even when he looked over the most recent dates, they all seemed to merge and float like patterns, something seemingly unfamiliar and it was in those moments he realized something horrible was happening to him and even with nations comforts whom he held dear, he still felt like this was a journey and a problem he should not be burdening his good friend with, nor the fledgling nation whom he felt fiercely protective of, even though it never shone through.

Yet, even though he remember that indeed the date of February 28th was an important date, he still felt like another birthday forgotten would not be unfortunate and the silence of this ( ... )

England had been shifting from foot to foot, the sort of fighting he would never allow from one of his colonies, and the moment he realized it he forced himself to stop, standing still and straight. Luckily too it seemed he managed to reign in his nerves just as the door opened and England was brought face to face with Egypt, barefoot and looking rather relaxed were it not for the slight weariness that England recognized was likely evident in his own face as well.

England dropped his gaze momentarily, inclining his head forward in a gentle dip, before bringing his eyes back up again.

"Ah, Egypt, I-" He stumbled over his words and realized that perhaps he should have practiced this a little more. He drew in a breath.

"I just wanted to stop by and see who you were faring. Given the-the date recently passed I just wanted to-well, that is... I just wanted to see how you were doing. I understand the staff gives you cards on dates they decided must be our birthdays. I was just...I was just wondering if yesterday had been that ( ... )

If Egypt would had been any other nation, he would have been inclined to smile at the others blathering nature. It was not uncommon but at times very unlikely that England could not compose himself before another, but Egypt was never really inclined to smile nor would the situation ever had allowed it fully. In different circumstances, under a different year and a different season, in a different location, perhaps, but Egypt did not smile for just anyone and at the moment, none of the factors added up correctly to make for a time to smile. Quietly, he made the choice not to think about the others words too much and spare himself the thought of detail ( ... )

England, for a moment, was completely struck by what to do next. Egypt had listened to him and, while not replied which was fairly normal, had stepped back in a very clear non-verbal invitation in the room.

For a brief hysterical moment he imagined the other was only doing it in order to painfully slam the door in his face once he took the presumptuous step forward but he dismissed the suspicion as ridiculous soon enough.

Staring at Egypt with shock written over his features, remembering himself a moment later and dropping his eyes, he stepped forward, into Egypt's room, very different from his own.

"Ah, er...thank you," he said quietly, turning to Egypt once he had come into the room fully, at a loss as to what he should do next. It was hardly as if this was common occurrence.
