I'm not doing this because I don't want to make friends; there are just some people out there that I'd rather not have reading my stuff, if you know what I mean.

hi! i saw your comment in the xculturalfamily group, and you sound interesting! i'd like to read more. :)

i'm also an american in germany, well, southern germany. i always like reading what other americans have to say about germany. makes me feel a little less crazy sometimes. :D

mainly my husband, he's german. but also the fact that i wanted out of the US and i kind of fell in love with germany when i visited for the first time. :)

Sounds like we have similar reasons for being here. ;) I totally fell in love with Berlin when I was here for the first time in 2002, and I met my husband while studying abroad here in 2003. Came back for grad school and never left! :D Well, it's only been 2.5 years, but I don't plan on leaving any time soon. ;)

after your advice in Eurotravel we managed to find a Ferienwohnung accommodation through website you mentioned in Karolinenhof - lower lake but seems like really good access to Central Berlin through Grunau (& tram 68) Thanks!!

Ah ha... I actually never considered teaching English in Germany... I didn't think they needed native teachers that badly... shows what I know, ha ha. My friend lives in Munich, and I've visited her twice, and I really like it there. I bet German would be easier to learn than Japanese. ha ha ( ... )
