Back in one pierced piece

Well I am back home from the hospital, minus one gall bladder and what were apparently many and biggish stones (however what scale of biggish I have no idea). I don't get to bring them home in a jar though as they were all broken up to fit the lot through the little keyhole. I have four dainty little incisions and the camera went in the navel one. 1) Get well soon etc.
2) Smoke and Dagger would be an absolutely awesome name for a spy-themed somethiing.

Good to hear you're only minus the bits you wanted to be minus. Wishing you a speedy recovery and all that.

Well I haven't any evidence at all really. They could have removed anything or nothing. There is a cynical part of me that wonders if cowboy surgeons can just make wee holes and stitch them up again and see if the placebo effect works for them.

More seriously, yes everything seems to be going well so far and am much, much less restricted in what I can do than I expected. I can even lift up the tonne weight that is Baby boy - although I will be giving the baby sling a miss for a while yet I think. Two days without fresh breastmilk though and he has succumbed to the dreaded cold poor lad.

Welcome home! Glad it all went exactly as planned. Love the idea of developing gall-stones via marriage!

Apparently the diagnostic mnemonic is 'fat, female, fertile, and flatulent'. I reckon I can only blame Myles for two of those. *blushes*

I was taught 'fair, fat, fertile and forty' - which is slightly less insulting - and has stayed with me since I was a first year student - so is obviously a good teaching aid!

I'm so glad you're home and it apparently went well. I hope you feel much better soon. Everyone I know who has had this operation is glad they did.

So far I am not regretting it much either. No restrictions on my release from hospital either. I can even lift up Baby Boy - although I wouldn't fancy carrying him round for too long just yet. He is HEAVY!. Thanks for the kind thoughts! :)
