Mr Wol bought me two pressies last week: Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora and Bujold's The Sharing Knife - Beguilement. He knows me very well. The pregnancy pundits may recommend jewelery but books are much more up my street. It took a while but I finished both and really did enjoy them.

I have the second book you mentioned, but I'm waiting to read it until the second is out. I hate WIPs in general, and that includes series.

Ah yes! i remember you being a convert to the Bujold. It is worth the wait. i just hope part 2 lives up to part 1.

You could be a very long time waiting to read the Scott Lynch as it is part 1 of 7. otoh. it is a stand alone novel too so no hanging cliffs or unfinished threads, although there are plenty of plot hooks to be taken up in later volumes. Nice trick to be able to do that really.
