I SAW ALICE IN WONDERLAND TONIGHT WITH SHELLY!

We got to theater nearly 4 whole hours in advance, LOL. One group was there at 6:30 o_O But good thing we showed up when we did or we wouldn't have had the awesome seats that we did.
Aside from a few annoying people, it was a great theater group! I wanted to smack the shit out of that little teenybopper ( Read more... )

man, i'm pretty glad you posted a review like this kino because i am really not sure whether i want to go see it or not :/ tim burton is an okay director, but i feel he has his safe "quirky/gothic" aesthetic zone that he sticks to for pretty much every film he makes. i mean, when i first saw the commercials and concept art for this film i kind of thought "here we go again...." but now my friend (who is a tim burton fan) is thinking of going to it next week so i might go with her...

but having said that, i'm not too found of the whole "alice in wonderland" theme myself. i mean, i never liked the disney film when i was small and i think the whole wonderland/white rabbit motif is so overused these days :/ i don't know...

but i'm glad you enjoyed your cinema experience :3 premiers are great <3 and feck that kid who asked you for your ticket stubs D:

Well, thing is I enjoyed the Disney Alice as a kid, and even though it is overused and Tim Burton does the same thing every film, I can still enjoy it if there's something different to it. Sometimes it only takes one small change to make a whole world of difference. And actually Tim's style is what makes him Tim - if he did any different it'd be kind of... weird. It might be good still, but some people are better off sticking to one style, that's what they thrive in and what makes them "them". But that's my opinion.
For me it was mostly "storyline=so-so and art=pretty!!"
I hope if you do go see it with your friend, you enjoy it. If anything it's a wonderful visual movie.

And yes, fuck that little twerp who asked for our ticket stubs. They were calling out really stupid things at us as we walked away. I swear to God, do me and my friend really look like high schoolers?? I'm past that shit, ARGH. /end
