Challenge #31- 26 Letters

A voice called her name….

“Sam…Sam…wake up,” the voice said.

“Don wanna,” she mumbled.

“I have to do this…wake up,” the voice replied, shaking her body.

Sam’s eyes popped open…infirmary…she thought.

“Come on… you have to answer some questions then you can sleep again,” Janet said, helping her to sit up.

Sam remembered now…concussion…yay.

She answered the standard questions then Janet asked her to recite the alphabet.

Grinning she replied in a singsong voice, “ a b c d efg… h i j k… lmnop… q r s… t u v… w x… y and z…now I know my ABCs next time won’t you sing with me.”

Janet just shook her head, “No more pain meds for you and no more Sesame Street with Cassie either,” Janet commented sarcastically as Sam lay back down.

“See you in four hours,“ Janet remarked as she walked away from the still grinning woman.

Challenge #29-Lost

“We’re lost.”

“No…we’re not.”

“Yes…we are.”

“No…we aren’t”

Sam sighed this could go on forever. She stopped, removed her backpack and took the map from the pocket. Kneeling down, she spread it out before her.

“We were supposed to take a left here, then a right,” she told Janet pointing out the marks.

Janet leaned over Sam’s shoulder, studying the map, “Well…we’ll just turn around and go back until we find that trail,” she commented.

Sam put the map up and followed her partner, “I still say we were lost,” she called out.

“We weren’t lost…just misdirected,” Janet replied loudly.
