Sam lay in bed, her head propped up on one arm. She watched the play of shapes and colors as they flittered across the form of her bedmate.
Splashes of yellow and blue merged forming green over full breasts; a stream of red shown over her stomach, mixing with blue over the bellybutton to make purple. As the wind blew it, the chime made of broken crystal created a tinkling sound as the colors broke apart to splash across Janet’s entire body.
She began tracing the different colors with her fingers, softly outlining each shape as it formed. This soon woke Janet up, “What are you doing?” she giggled as Sam’s fingers traced around her left breast.
“Trying to decide what color looks best on you,” Sam replied.
Janet pulled Sam over until she lay on top of her, “I look best in blue,” she stated gazing into Sam’s eyes.
“Why blue?” Sam asked as she began placing soft kisses along Janet’s neck.
“Because it’s the color of your eyes and when you look at me with them I’ll always look my best,” Janet stated as she pulled Sam’s head up and captured her lips in a good morning kiss.

Sam stood in the kitchen, her stomach in knots. She asked the guys over with the purpose of telling them about her and Janet. Now she was having second thoughts. Leaning over the sink, ‘Oh god I think I’m gonna be sick,’ she thought.
Janet walked in, seeing this she came up and began rubbing her back, “It’s okay…they’re our friends Sam. This won’t affect anything,” Janet told her nervous lover.
Sam took a deep breath, Janet was right what’s the worst that could happen…‘Jack freaks and turns both of them in for court martial.’ her subconscious flashed.
“Come on…let’s go,” Janet said pulling her towards the living room.
They entered the room to see Jack, Daniel and Teal’c playing a board game with Cassie; the three men looked up as they sat on the couch.
Daniel saw the look on Sam’s face, “What’s wrong Sam?”
“We need to tell you something important,” Sam said nervously.
Daniel grinned, looking at the other men then at Cassie who grinned back.
“Oh something important…would that be the fact you and Janet are a couple now?” he commented.
Sam stared at him in shock but Janet got up and pulled him up into a big hug.
“Carter…we’re men, not blind,” Jack commented, “besides it’s kind of neat.”
Daniel gave Jack a kick, “I thought we agreed you wouldn’t make lewd comments.”
“That wasn’t lewd,” Jack grinned.
“Congratulations Captain Carter, Doctor Fraiser; the two of you make perfect mates,” Teal’c said from the floor.
Cassie chimed in, “See…I told you it would be cool Sam.”
Sam watched as the two women in her life interacted with her friends. A huge weight lifted from her shoulders, and she thought, ‘I’m the luckiest woman alive…I have a family and friends who love me no matter what.’

Sam leaned against the wall; not having the strength to sit, just slump.
She looked at the stone in her right hand, rubbing it along the floor she brought it up to her left hand. Running it across her fingertips wincing as it drew blood. It would be simple to end it now. Doing so would stop the torture, beatings that left her face all puffy, whippings that tore the clothes from her body leaving tracks of blood.
She wouldn’t take the easy way out; she had a family to go home to.
They would find her; she had faith.
