Some these I debated on answering because I had either read the manga and hadn't seen the anime or I loved the manga while kind of not caring about or disliking the anime, so what am I supposed to do in that situation?
For me, with series such as Sailor Moon and Bleach (like, I've never watched an episode of the Bleach anime), I just counted the series in general to save the headache. Or put it in parenthesis if I ever came across a problem like that, like, "(only the manga, though)."
I kind of feel MEH over how a few series didn't make it on this list. I know they were only counting the general, famous series that everyone's heard of, but they missed a couple of series. Like, where's Paradise Kiss or NANA? Gravitation? Princess Tutu? Michiko to Hatchin? Or even Mars? :\
I own Princess Tutu on DVD! If you don't get around to watching the episodes on YouTube, I've got it the next time we visit each other. We can have marathons of crazy anime: vampires and magical girls in tutus!
The main two characters are named Ginji and Ban and they run a retrieval service - for a fee they get things that have gone missing or been stolen back. Ginji has electric powers and Ban is able to force illusions into people's minds for a period of one minute - although he can only use the ability three times a day.
There's also a place called the Limitless Fortress - Ginji, in spite of being a happy silly derp was originally the head of a gang there and called the Lightning Emperor. It's very hazardous in the Limitless Fortress.
The storyline features Ginji and Ban's adventures - but it's kind of hard to describe what the series is about in a short blurb. XD
The characters all have nifty abilities, some of which are used pretty cleverly. Ban and Ginji also have hilariously bad luck with money and parking tickets.
