[Wonders upon wonders, Kratos is outside. He's sitting beneath Ammy's cherry tree, deep in thought as he occasionally writes something in the journal that rests in his lap. Not the one used for communication, mind you; that one lies open on the side of the tree in case there's something he needs to hear. In a basket beside him are various pieces

-Kasumi had been meditating nearby when that song caught her ears. It sounded so...

After a few moments, she came by to observe him. Silently at first.-

[His angelic hearing catch some footsteps, but he can't be bothered at the moment. Still, while he continues working, he keep his senses open in case whoever's there decides to sneak closer.

And he'll continue humming, too, lifting his head to listen to the notes that escape carefully.]

[Once that bar of notes is done, he writes it down in his journal. Though he occasionally glances at where Kasumi is hiding.]

[Colette stands behind the tree, listening. ...If he's humming, that at least means he's doing okay, even though he's alone now. She smiles.]

...That's a very pretty song.

[What, how did she get there without him knowing about it. You Chosens and your soft feet. 8| He stops and glances behind him, then starts to sketch something below the notes he's making.]

Um... I-I'm sorry! I just wanted to see how you were feeling.

I'm all right.

[It seems to be an automatic response, mostly because he's busy with something else.]

[Mrs. Coulter watches from a distance, her daemon in her arms.]

[For now, Kratos doesn't notice her. Instead, he looks off to the side, hums a line from the song, and then writes again.]

[The monkey looks at her inquiringly, and she nods. It jumps from her arms and approaches Kratos.]

[The skitter of the monkey's paws catches his enhanced hearing, and thus he glances up from his work to watch the monkey curiously. What's it doing?]

[this ninja just ninjas up on him...but doesn't say anything yet]

[He knows that ninja is there, but he won't let her presence stop him. Instead, he starts to sketch something, pausing every now and then to hear the tune in his head again.]

[No, they're still in sight. There are musical notes on the top, and on the bottom is the start of a cylinder.]

[Kratos isn't the only one outside this evening; Arumat is out on one of his regular patrols (aka his excuse to get out of the house and away from his housemates for a while; with Myuria and now Edge around, it's hard to get any peace in that place) when he spots the man beneath the tree. Curiosity as to what a human would be doing out amidst the snow leads him over to watch silently for a few moments.]

[A human, huh? Well, this human heard those footsteps, and though he's silent for a few minutes as he started to sketch something, he hums a bar from the song again to write out something else.]

[He'll stand and watch for a bit longer before he decides to actually speak up.]

... you'll freeze if you stay out here too long in this weather.

[Kratos gives him a sidelong glance. No, he really won't. But he won't give that away so easily.]
