never thought I'd have a family

Funny how things work out, mm-hmm. I stopped by the old man's noodle cart on my way home from a sort of house call on Sunday. The hours I put in, the little wife knows it's no good putting dinner on the table, and noodles is always cheaper than a wasted roast ( Read more... )

Cute dog, dude!

You gonna keep her?

Looks like we are, son. Wife took her to the vet today, and she ain't microchipped. It's a crying shame, it is, a little puppy like that wandering the cold streets of LA, scrounging for small kindnesses like my old man gave her...

What kind of dog is she? And did you officially name her Spoon yet or did you decide on something else?

On the streets like she was, she's probably a mutt, but she kinda looks like a yellow lab, I think.

I think Spoon's gonna stick, mm-hmm. She likes that name.

What a charming-looking little puppy. Makes me wish I'd known my Pess as a puppy.

You got yourself a dog, mister? Maybe you can give me some vet recommendations. The wife took her to check for a microchip, but I don't want to entrust her care to just any quack.

Yes, I have a rough collie named Pess. The vet I take him to is actually quite nearby People Park, if that's the correct noodle cart. They're very gentle. Pess doesn't much like the vet, but they were the first place I took him where he was even some semblance of calm. He's now much better on visits.

You shouldn't have asked, I can go on for quite a long time about my dog. You should take Spoon to the local dog run when she's perhaps a bit older.

Thanks, mister. I'll have the wife make Spoony an appointment in the morning.

I'll maybe check out the dog run sooner rather'n later. Spoon can't be that young, she's got herself a full coat.

Awww cute doggy. Do you know how old she is? She looks very tiny still!

I think she's still a puppy. I'm hoping a vet can pin it down. Were she a human, I'd X-ray her femur and could tell you right from that how old she is, mm-hmm.

She looks little like purse dog with flop ears! So cute. I love dogs very much, I have always wanted one.

I don't, but I've been thinking of maybe getting a pet lately...

I'm just not sure what kind I should get...

She sure is, doll. Gentlest little pup there could be. If you're in the neighbourhood, and if your mommy says it's okay, maybe you can play with her sometime.

I'd sure appreciate it, doll. Spoony's got too much energy for us old folk, mm-hmm.

You just check with your daddy, and call Eldoon Clinic so's I can tell you where Spoon and I live.
