OK. It is the cold, actually. It's very, very cold here. But it's also very dry. This is probably not even possible, but I am convinced that the relative humidity is below zero. I had planned to run this morning before work. I woke up in plenty of time, and was eager to try out my new running pants. Then I looked at the thermometer. It was eight below zero. I'm drinking black tea. I am not a tea drinker, but felt like drinking tea. Luckily, I anticipated this a day or two ago while buying groceries. My eye was drawn to the name, and to the dark red box that it came in. And, to the idea that black tea would be packaged in a red box. If I were going to drink tea, I ought to drink black tea. The girls at the office are excited about this new diet. Well, four new diets, actually. One for each blood type. You know, it's a first-of-the-year sorta thing.

"I need to find out my blood type so I can plan my diet!"

I don't know my blood type either, but I'm not really planning to diet any time soon, so I guess it doesn't matter.

I was up till 2:30 in the morning, drinking and smoking cigars and listening to music. It seemed like a pretty good idea last night. Now, I'm not so sure. I'm at work, where the lights are too bright and I don't want to talk to anyone.
