Icons.

When I first joined LJ, I thought they were pretty and clever, but I didn't see the point of them for me, and for the first few years I used a simple (and to be honest rather crude) version of my default (which, for anyone who doesn't know, if from the film Alice by surrealist Jan Svankmajer, and versions of which have always been my default

My patented method is chop a square, reduce and then fiddle with it until it works... yes, very technical and serious {veg}

But I cannot draw too save my life (the old saw about a straight line? I can't draw a wavy one) and my own photography... well, it gives new meaning to the words "artistically blurred").

I don't do big photomanips, but these little miniatures - and the chance to make jokes - it suits me :)

You make lovely icons and you're right, it is fun and relaxing to make them. I tend to make them more than artwork these days for that reason alone.
