25. Favourite 'small' canon moments

Not sure what this means but I'll give it a shot - one favourite quick bit with most of the characters I love best (note, for most of this lot I have more than one of course, but these are moments I happily rewatch...

Wei Wuxian - dozing off when he and Lan Wangji are meditating... and ending up slumped on Lan

NMJ - I really love the spin-off. He becomes a much more relatable character there, and the ties between him and NHS give the main plot that much more heft.

I think my view of NMJ has been coloured by fanfic, because my love for NHS means I grab stories that show the two of them, and most of them show the brotherly bond as one of the best in the show (after the Jades).

Ohh, I can see by the comments there is a spin-off after this? MORE goodies to look forward to!

There were two spinoff TV movies - the first is less good, but has Wen Ning (my favourite undead) and the most adorable junior, so I'm fond of it. And the second is backstory for the Noe brothers and I think it's great. I found copies online, I think on dailymotion but they may be on Netflix or Viki as well.

There's also (as well as the original webnovel, in Chinese but fans have translated it) an animated series, an audio drama, and a cute little set of short chibi-style cartoons from which I made the above icon :) I'm not sure I'll be chasing up all these, I'm more into the show per se... but a lot of fans do them all.
