The Replica had been walking to his apartment that night under the seemingly-endless rain of chocolate that had fallen onto the island. He'd been a little skeptical of the candies, but after trying a milk chocolate one and finding himself un-poisoned still, he figured they were mostly harmless.

Since it was getting to be quite late, he hadn't seen anyone else so far. He'd expected that to continue, honestly, but as he passed by a wooded area, he saw a dark figure walking - no, crawling - towards the trees. He couldn't really make out who it was, exactly, but that hair...

It had to be the Shadow.

Repliku had heard that there were monsters in the forest, and while he knew that the Shadow Sora was capable of taking care of itself, still thought it would be a good idea to check it out. Maybe someone else might have thought that it was a bad idea to go walking in the woods late at night, but Repliku wasn't afraid. After all, he could take care of himself, too ( ... )

His tendrils perked and wiggled and he turned his head, yellow eyes blazing into Riku's. He stood up on his hind legs and wobbled for a moment before the long strands of darkness reached out and wrapped around Riku's ankles, sensing him, seeing his heart. At the replica's question he nearly smiled, nearly. He was amused by being called "shadow" though that's exactly what he was. Shadow indeed, and this was a clone, both twisted mirrors of their originals.

He tilted his head and then looked back over to the forest, the darkness and pounding hearts within calling to him. Yellow eyes trained back onto Replica and a long grin pulled across his lips.

"Skaah," he teased but also warned. If the other continued to deny him food they would all regret the action. Heartless were dangerous by their ability to turn others into Heartless and thus causing more and more to appear as they all fed. Animals were not exempt from becoming Heartless.

As the Shadow Sora's yellow eyes seemed to burn into Repliku's own turquoise ones, Rep felt his breath catch in his throat a little. The Shadow looked a little more like Sora when it stood up, but the dull gold surrounded by black and the ever-intoxicating scent of darkness burning through his nostrils made it quite clear to Repliku how different it actually was.

But different was good, was better, wasn't it? Repliku knew he didn't want to be treated like the Real Thing, and he figured that the Shadow wouldn't want to be treated as if he were Sora. Still, Repliku found himself being drawn to the Shadow as it reached out those dark tendrils around his ankles, and he found the his heart was beating just that little bit faster as it gave him a grin full of teeth and silent warning ( ... )

The tendrils of darkness he had sent out were pulled back and found no animosity in the Replica's form... not yet anyways. Still, he supposed the the boy who looked like his creator could not be as horrible as his little brother considering he hadn't tried to attack him yet ( ... )
