Yuugi was upset lately, and he couldn't blame his partner (he'd never blame his partner for anything anyway). Kagome was also upset, and very vocal about it. It didn't mix, and he wanted to make sure Yuugi was alright. He was always top priority.
But seeing him out there alone made him approach closer. Practicing archery on his own? Maybe it was a stress release? He seemed... a little bad at it, though.
It had been such a long time since....
"Having fun?"

...well, okay, maybe a little bit.
"...kind of.." He replied, dropping the arrows back into the quiver on the side. "Kagome's been teaching me, so I figured I'd get some practice in before our next lesson."

Atem approached closer. "How many lessons have you two had?" He knew that Kagome was no professional, self taught- but on the battlefield it had sounded like (at least that's as much as he gathered from his talks with her).

This would probably be easier if the string wasn't so hard to draw back with. Kind of hurt his arm when he tried, but then again.. he wasn't putting his whole heart into it, either. He was worried about Atem, Madotsuki, Kagome.. everyone ever.
"You know how to shoot an arrow?" An innocent question, mostly because he was still learning about Atem.

She had been hiding out in Jing's house during the entire fiasco and confined herself to a small dark closet. She had just gone out to make sure these nightmares weren't still around. Particularly, hers.
So when she rounded the corner, Artemis in hand, to find...who was tha--? Atem? No, he...he has a different scent. Ah, perhaps this is Yuugi. She looked to Artemis and quickly deactivated it's scythe form, causing it to collapse. She strapped the parts to her leg before continuing.
"Hello."

"Hello!" He dropped the arrows into the quiver, though his expression remained as pleasant as it could. "Out for a walk?" Nervous attempt at making conversation, since he could never end a conversation just at a greeting.

"Yes. Are you an archer?" Her eyes went to the arrows as she stared for a few moments. She knew Kagome was an archer but she didn't know there were others as well.
Though that was her fault, she had become a bit antisocial since arriving on the island.

"Yuugi"
She called out as she walked up to him. She went to put a hand gently on his shoulder then pulled the boy in for a hug. She felt as though she was getting closer to the boy and she knew that she worried him with her action. She realized now how stupid it was but she didn't regret it. She felt as though she needed to do something, if anything to call Kia out and have the girl focus her on Kagome.
"I'm sorry Yuugi, I guess the nightmare and Madotsuki's death bothered me a lot more and I just wanted...to try something."

"....Try something?" He didn't mean to ask, it just kind of.. came out of his mouth. Plus, the way she made it sound, it was planned or something.
Reply
"Well I just wanted Kia to understand how I felt. If I upset her enough, she might come directly after me. Besides, I'm not one to just stand aside and let things like this happen without speaking out against her."

"I think she knows..." he said quietly. "But its not like you're alone."

[He walks over to the boy replaying how Kagome and Kikyou shot their arrows.]
Look like you're only using your arms.
[He looks over the boy to see his form.]
Put your back into the pull back and just let go.
[He wasn't an expert, but he knew a little from watching.]

Still though, he tries to mimic him as best as he could.]
So like this?
[He doesn't shoot off any more arrows yet, just trying to verify.]
