Last night, Jasmine and I played Beautiful Katamari for hours trying to move up in the Live leaderboards. Despite my somewhat negative review of it before, it is still incredibly fun, and being able to play a level then immediately go online and see how you measure up against the rest of the world is (perhaps unsurprisingly) addictive. We picked up Beautiful Katamari tonight (it's release on Tuesday was part of what made getting a 360 so imperative), and...well, I'm not sure where to start. The game is fun, for sure--gameplay has never been a problem for the series, and since nothing has changed on that front, rolling things up is as fun as ever. There was a time when that would have filled me with unspeakable joy, not as long ago as you might think. Up to Bloodflowers, I was right there with the Cure, supportive of pretty much anything they did. Then they released an album called The Cure.

Stereo Total: Paris-Berlin (****) At some point in the last few years, I actually gave up on Stereo Total. Every album sounded exactly the same to me, and most of the time neither their garage rock nor their synth-pop struck me as particularly inspired.
