Going to see movies at the theater is something I've more or less cut out of my life. For one thing, the films themselves generally leave me with that "I paid $10 for this feeling?" But worse yet, I generally pay that $10 not only to see a movie that I could have waited to see later for half the price, but to see it with a theater full of people ( Read more... )

The guy in Cloverfield who films most everything--is he an asshole in the movie? Cuz he's an asshole in real life.

Yeah, he's kind of an affable Will Farrell-type idiot. But you don't see him much, since he's behind the camera. How do you know him?

Cameron!

2 things!!

1) I've avoided Cloverfield to this point, but... Frankly, I'm intrigued. So, I'll have to go watch it now.

2) I'm working on a mix-cd (although the idea is to put it on an audio cassette) and I wanted to plumb your far more refined and beautiful taste in musics, got any recommendations that won't make me push my love of harshness on others as if I think that they'll love it as much as I do?

I was wondering whether you'd like Cloverfield or not. I think you'll find it less-than-creative, but for what it is, it could have been much worse.

So what sort of music are you looking for? My musical tastes have actually been returning to the womb lately, so to speak. I'm listening to a lot of the people who originally caused my womany taste in music--the Cranberries, the Sundays, Tori Amos...

Hmm, I'm kinda looking for good pop music along the (varied) lines of Deerhoof or some Stephen Merritt-ish stuff. Maybe some obscure shoe-gaze, or stuff like Asobi Seksu...

In any case, I respect your womany taste. Delicious. Haha... sorry, was that weird?
