Summary: Yeoman Padalecki is the newest member of the USS Bowfin, a submarine commanded by the young Captain Jensen Ackles. They run dangerous missions in the Pacific during World War II and face death at every turn. And as they get to know each other better, their relationship changes in a fundamental way that could end their careers.

Author's Notes: So, Rini myficjournal was visiting me in San Francisco, and we went on a tour of the USS Pampanito, a World War II submarine docked at Pier 39. And of course, it sparked my Muse and that sparked Rini’s Muse, and the next thing you know, we have a Big Bang fic. This is our second time, and we only hope we are half as good as all the other entries.

We have definitely taken a few liberties with history and language, but have overall tried to remain true to the period.

Acknowledgments: To our beta, greeneyes_fan, we owe much in the way of gratitude and thanks. Any remaining mistakes are purely our own.

~~ Part 1 ~~ Part 2 ~~ Part 3 ~~ Part 4 ~~ Part 5 ~~ Part 6 ~~ Part 7 ~~ Part 8 ~~
