I think it's because we, as a society, have grown more weary and cynical. It's not cool to blog about your feelings anymore, unless it's a 140 character one-off or a tear-stained break-up note on Facebook.
Maybe we should develop a new blogging network...Combine the intimacy of Google+ circles, with long-form blogging, with the ability to easily integrate cell phone photos and videos and Spotify recs.

Isn't it weird that the Modern Internet hasn't given us a long-form, private blogging network that feels like LiveJournal felt in its heyday?
