How do you pick just one word? The right word, the perfect word? Out of all the words in the language, all the minutely varied phrases that convey such different subtle meanings within a word's difference -- how do you choose just one? How does anyone write anything?

I just don't know about fanfiction. It started out as a fun hobby but ended up being more a crutch I could lean on as I developed my writing skills. Writing fiction is such a bane sometimes. Right now I'm in the middle of a story that needs to be worded extremely delicately, but the words just aren't coming out right.
