Like the winner is of any surprise at all. Plushenko skates like a god, we all know that, it wasn't likely going to change in the few years he wasn't competing

I used to love both but for some reasons plushenko always won me a little more XD But yeah, before was between the two, when yagudin retired was just Plushenko always winning xD
Exactly. Before, they sort of had someone to compete against. After Yagudin left, it all just became technicalities and jumps and ect for Plushenko. I felt like he had lost his soul, because nobody could keep up with him technically and that was enough for him to always win. I think when his performances lost the soul, I fell a little out of love with him. I still don't know where I stand. D:
I couldn't watch but I'm going to search for videos on YouTube. Good news that Stéphane Lambiel took the 2nd place. I like him a lot. And I was going to say "at least I'll be able to watch the gala, now that I'm at my sister's again" but no, on Sunday we'll be in Paris to see the musical Cléopâtre (that I love just as much as Mozart)...so I'll watch dancers instead of skaters. ^^
Well thank god for youtube, right. :D I'm sure most of the performances will end up there so you can always watch them later. :D And have fun at the musical!
I didn't think our fandoms can cross even more, but yes, I am a fan of Holmes and yes, I watch figureskating myself, though I personally was more of a Yagudin girl. When it was Yagudin vs. Plushenko, that was the real competition, I think. Now I sort of lost a bit interest since none of the new boys come even close to the last generation.
Oh man, I AM A YAGUDIN FANGIRL AS WELL! I always preferred him over Plushenk, even though I loved both. ♥ But when Yagudin left, not only did the competition sort of drop, but I felt like Plushenko's performance lost soul, you know, because suddenly it was enough to just be good at a technical level, no feeling in the performance required, since nobody could match his skill anyway.
I think that's why I distanced myself from the sport. It sort of just wasn't worth it. But now I'm slowly being reigned in again my Stephane Lambiel and Thomas Verner. :3
