Nov 07, 2005 18:22

"It was just another manic monday"- suzzanah hoffs and prince said it best. gosh that song is my antheme. Getting up this morning was a bitch! OK, heavy duty copy and pasting.... I haven't heard;

1. u2 - even better than the real thing
2. client - overdrive
7. inxs - devil inside
9. ministry - stigmata
10. nine inch nails - terrible lie
12. love and rockets - so alive
13. peter murphy - cut you up
18. jane's addiction - been caught stealing
20. the pixies - get my head around you (jesus and the mary chains cover)
21. no doubt - it's my life (talk talk cover)

But the ones I do know are so good that I'm definitely going to check them out. Definitely a great-looking selection :o)

the u2 song is amazing. run, don't walk, get their album achtung baby!

client is pretty fucking rad. it's two girls. they're on andy fletcher's record label. and martin gore does backing vocals on that song.

ministry's stigmata is a classic industrial song. and that song by nin is sooo good. it's off of pretty hate machine, which is an album i view as the slight companion of dm's violator. (anything that producer flood touched between 1987 and 1991, i view together. so that would also include achtung baby.)

the love and rockets is classic. i melt for that stuff. same with that song by peter murphy. it's funny because put the two together and you get bauhaus.

the jane's addiction is another classic one. reminds me of watching 120 minutes when i was younger. the pixies cover is pretty rad. they sped the song up a bit. and the cover that no doubt did is very awesome. they took that song and made it dreamier.

oh yes me too! i think this time around i was a little more smooth with this show. i definately know my friend thought i was funny.

i had an idea for a special kind of show. like the music version of terp weekly or something simular to third rail and this public radio program called the world cafe (it's produced at u of penn!) or even morning becomes eclectic. kinda like a music magazine for the ears or something.

For the record, Prince did not write it. ''Christopher'' wrote it. (An alias Prince used as not to draw attention to himself) 0000h!!! Every time l hear that song or any other Bangles song it gets my goose, gander and godling up in a snit. l found out that the Bangles were doing an interview at some radio station umphteen years ago and l went down to meet them and have them sign the album that ''Manic Monday'' and ''Walk With An Erection'', l mean ''Walk Like An Egyptian'' was on (ed note: l stole it from my Brother, l didn't buy it) and apparently things didn't go well at the interview so when they walked out, those four bitches totally blew me off and their yenta bitch p.r. lady said that they weren't in the mood. l was too much in shock to yell out, ''l hope y'all get ovarian cancer and die ( ... )

the bangles story is really funny. i'm sorry that they weren't in a good mood to sign your album. unfortunately, there are some djs and journalists in this world who really do make bands that upset. i've seen it happen and no it wasn't I who did it.

i also got a great laugh out of the franky goes to hollywood story. your brother must have been really embarased when your dad approached him about the album's artwork. i've always wanted to see the original music video for the song just to see what's the big deal about it. oh that's right, it's really really gay, how shocking (sarcasm). how much on ebay did you pay for the album? i bet your brother just got such a kick out of it.

thanks thomas!!!! i'm glad you liked it.

yes i love only you. it's such a cute song. i love how warm allison moyette's voice is. you know what's funny, depeche mode was originally suppose to do that song. vince clarke was in depeche mode, but left and started yazoo and then started erasure. fun stuff, right?
