So, I've been sick this week (hence chapter 2 of my fic still not being posted yet, as I've been all feverish and didn't get it done)...and tonight I felt well enough to check my inbox and what do I see, first thing? What really got me pissed off is that a lot POC have experienced the kind of condescending attitude from from other white people who don't have their privilege checked.

Also, the whole thing about "she's a queen bee, she's got everything, so she doesn't suffer anything." That same logic has been used against Asian Americans to try and prove we don't suffer racism in America anymore. Plenty of us are doing good in school (and even that's a whole other discussion of debunking myths), really good and math and science, and a lot of us come from self-made rich families. We're pretty much just white. Model Minority for the win. -_-

The unmitigated gall of some people astounds me. >_< And it's like MJ59 went out of her way to be condescending.

From that Snapedom thread ... totalreadr's comments on Emmett Till are so appalling and stupid that this white Englishwoman's jaw just dropped to the floor...

IKR? My brain kept throwing up the Blue Screen of Death for me, on that one. It's just...so horrible! T_T
