Apr 28, 2007 12:46

Broke out my Sailor Jon manga to scan a page, and settled on this one. It's from the fourth arc (Dream, corresponding to the SuperS anime series). Although the plots of the anime and manga are radically different, this event happens in both ( Read more... )

OMF, this is so well-done! Ah, it reminds me of when I first got a scanner, the first thing I did was scan the lineart at the back of one of the volumes- the one with the lilies- and try to colour it. I really felt so bad for Jon during that whole arc, it was aparent [especially in my second-plus readthroughs] that Stephen was increasingly suffering, but poor Jon had no idea at first, and then it was too far along for him to do muhc of anything. Thank you for the translation- I always found the differences between the official English version and the direct translation to be interesting.

Will YouTube factor into PASJ:SuperS then? I know we're working towards Murdocxia, but it's hard to resist throwing in something "smaller and blurryier" after the age-swap lead in ( ... )

OH, that's an essay, sorry.
Okay, post script: The other two could be Laura Kightlinger [She wrote for Daria! Eee!], Frank DeCaro [Out at the Movies guy, now on Sirius] or Brian Unger [NPR and Countdown! Eee!]
OR all three could just be STELLA, of which two memebers have been correspondents. They had a show on CC until it's timeslot was filled by Mind of Menstealia and it was cancled after ten eps. Their motive is not coming to me at the moment, but I have confidence in the other members of the PASJ fandom's creativity.

It really is a shame that Stephen's troubles didn't translate into the anime - not because I want to see Stephen unhappy, but because the character development is so much stronger ( ... )

Oh gosh, yeah, I remember in one of my old single-issues I actually took a white-out pen to the page and fixed it, it was so distracting. ^^; I really appreciated being able to get my dose of magical transformaiton goodness from the local mega-chain bookstore though, even if the cover designs and flopping sometimes messed with things, it's just almost imposssible to kill artwork and plot that timeless ( ... )

Really? I think every Jewish boy had an afro sometime in their life like with every asian girl having a bob. *is glad I grew out my hair in the second grade*

You're welcome. I like your creativity and ability to make these things happen in a professional-ish way. XD

Unless there's a fluke in the general trend of babies being born hairless, every girl has a bob at some point . . .

But, yeah, Jewfro. There's a picture somewhere else in that thread that shows more people on the soccer team, though, and they all have big hair. It was the '80s, after all.

I think you're referring to my ability to BS a plausible-sounding history, but thank you all the same =3

Ooh. I had almost forgotten about this -- but I do have more ideas for the storyline. I shall see what I can do.
