Oh wow, I hope that thinlizzy2 is safe! I don't know her at all except for writing for her in the recent exchange, but elanurel said she was awesome. I should go friend her.

She's a really great, fun person! The threat of nuclear meltdown scared her enough that she left the country for a couple weeks until things calm down. She's pregnant, so you can understand the fear!

Muzzy was well loved in the MST3K fandom of aol. (Back when aol actually had active message boards.) I still miss him.

Wow, yeah, I don't blame her. I'd want to get out of there, too.

And I remember the AOL message boards, from like 1997-98 when I first got online at home. I think I mainly went to X-Files and pagan boards, and maybe some for bands I liked. I spent more time on Usenet and mailing lists and IRC and stuff, though.

I got online in January of 1997 and went straight for the message boards. Pretty active on them until they started going down around 2002 or so. Now, LJ and FB are my message boards. :)
