Gah!!! I sense an impending trainwreck... [Digimon Talk]

We all know that there isn't any real sign of a new Digimon series coming out. Everyone (including me) is hoping that supporting Digimon Data Squad will catch Toei's attention. However more and more, I'm getting discouraged.

First of all, leave it to Jetix/Disney to start airing commercials for Data Squad like 15 DAYS before it airs. I have to say

it's not like I can even support data squad since... oh, I don't know, I LACK CABLE, LET ALONE THE EXTRA CHANNELS TO GET JETIX

So it doesn't matter to me anyway.

... besides, unless they churn out better digivices, I could honestly care less how well the series does here myself (Like we'll ever even see dub/sub dvd releases of digimon)

I meant the people who had absolutely no excuse. I understand your case or Splash's case.

There has to be people who have Jetix/has the income to be able to recieve Jetix/etc. some people are just lazy tho.

Yay for my lack of television, let alone cable. :DDDDD I'll... kind of support in the tiniest spot in my head, but I don't want my sensitive audio memory to get things mixed up, so I stick with the original in the end. Anyway, I'm just happy I don't have to hear it. ^^;;;

Yeah I know, but sometimes the "Dub Praisers" are a little worse than the "Dub Bashers." Try and say anything remotely negative about the Digimon dub, and they'll chew you off for it @_@;

yeah, digimon has taken a lot of my money, so I guess so. But soooo worth it~ ^^;;

Eeee scary xDDDD It particularly saddens me when they say things against the original just because they don't understand it (not knowing the language), and then they don't try to understand it at all. Yeah, things just don't make sense sometimes when it comes to bashing~.

Well, seeing as I'm in Australia, chances of DDS coming here are really REALLY slim. Also because I have no cable. :D;; It's a waste of money on my part anyway because I hardly watch tv.

My post is pretty much directed to the Americans who can actually watch it, but are too lazy and rather watch it on Youtube. I have a feeling that most of them, even if they have enough money to afford cable, is just going to take the easy way out and watch it on Youtube or download.

Like I said, I raised my eyebrow at some of the changes and "modifications", but I put up with it since we had to be mindful of what audience they're mostly aiming for. And aside from things like "Keenan", they've made some sort of sense. (Heck, even "Keenan" eventually kinda made sense, in some way)

But if they went over Jeff's head to change "DigiSoul", which could confuse some people considering what it essentially is, to something even more confusing and just out-of-place as "DNA", then you have to seriously question who this "audience" is. Are children really so dumb these days that they have to be told it's "DNA" and not something more Digimon-esque? Do they even know what DNA is, anyway? Even something as somewhat corny-sounding as "DigiSpirit" makes more sense than that

I think the main problem with the Digimon dub in general, is that the changes have really flawed logic. But yeah it could have been a lot worse...

DNA Charge is just WTF, i can see why some of the names where changed and the logic behind them. But DNA Charge is just meh.

I support the fandom, i buy the cards, i import the manga books n V-Jump, i bought Digivices. Hell i HAVE bought legit VHS and DVD Dub Releases where possible.

I totally understand not being able to support something because it's in a different country. Heck that was the deal with the original Digimon Savers series in Japan.
