just to let everyone know I'm back and staying with D&A. I have been resting a lot and just realized what a toll the last few months have taken on me.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here but I have been busy with life on the water. I spent more than a month in La Paz and made a few repairs finished and many more not done. I have moved the boat from La Paz to San Carlos in Sonora across the sea of Cortez approximately 250 NM north. Sanctuary will be in dry storage for the rest of the summer ( Read more... )

Just to let folks know I'm ok. I'm in La Paz Mexico and it's finally very warm. I am having e-mail issue's and I have some repairs to make so I'll be in La Paz for a while. I'll post more later.

The San Diego area is a relatively unimpressive group of southern California city's with tightly packed suburbs and a rather totalitarian harbor authority. The sense that visitors are welcome to spend money and then leave ASAP is very evident. I just got back from the Mexican Consulate and found it a fascinating contrast from the United States officialdom. The entrance is gated of course and a very large Mexican flag flies over the front of the building. I walked up to the gate and was expecting an armed guard or something letting me know that I was stepping onto Mexican soil. The usual ( Read more... )

This will be my last night in this house. I will be moving the rest of my gear on board today and tomorrow. I will be done with Bay Point. Such a tired little town, changing its name from West Pittsburg to Bay Point. Running from it's past I suppose. Not unlike me. A sordid past of crime, drugs and poverty.
