"my first guess is a "Burpless" or seedless cucumber, or other Asian cucumber relative. I have grown them before, and they get very long, but mine were never this long. They are also vines, so they would be able to climb up and over the arbor like the grapes do. Second guess is a relative of the squash/gourd family, because they can come in all weird shapes and sizes. Third guess is a loofah, which is closely related to cucumbers, but most people think it is a spnge from the sea because, when the loofah is ripe, you can dry it out and get a loofah sponge that you use in the shower/tub. I also grew one of these, and actually got a fruit (loofah), but then I tried to dry it out and it rotted instead. Ask your landlord what he plnated... now I want to know."
