Now that she's been here for a while, she's talked to a few people- transformers from other realities, mostly counterparts of ones she knows, humans, powered and not, a huge technorganic blob and a Gargoyle who both used to be human ( Read more... )

Fear. If something or someone is different, then they're unpredictable, and if they're unpredictable they could be dangerous... even when they obviously aren't.

"Well, that kinda thing gets old fast," she mutters. She's seen this lead on to racial superiority amung humans.

*She has a very sour smile on her face.* Tell me about it. I've been dealing with it for the last two thousand years.

"Not just humans. Animals react the same. If you're talking raw survival? If you don't know what it is, better to assume it's a predator and get away than to wait around and get eaten."

"Now, people don't usually have to worry about getting eaten, but the part of our brain that controls fear is shared with those animals. The line on human and beast is a LOT thinner than humans want to admit." A chuckle. "Believe me, know that first hand."

"I've been told that fear can lead on to hate," she replies, "Among humans, that is." One thing always leads on to another, it seems.

Now that sparked some interest. "Makes sense, being a kind of animal."

"Isn't that true of most species?" Dune Runner asks. His perch on the arm of a nearby couch puts him a bit closer to the Autobot's height.

"Well, yeah," she replies. One of those minicons, she assumes.

She's right, of course.

He chuckles. "It's ironic, really, if you think about it: fear of the aliens is one thing pretty much everyone has in common."

*Kickback's shrugs* It's the same amoungst cybertronians sometimes. They don't understand it so they assume it's dangerous and try to blow it up. Humans aren't all that different; goodness knows why though.

I only know that I'm hated and feared because I eat metal and sometimes people wonder if I'll eat them...even though the thought of actually eating something sentient makes me feel sick.

Oh, it's Kickback again. She knows he's a charmer and all that, but not how different this Kickback's personality is to her own.

"And some of 'em even have a penchant for megalomania," she adds, completely straight faced.

"Well, there's the little issue of blackmailing people, too..."

*Kickback laughs* Yes that is indeed true.

*head tilts grinning* Only when I'm workin' and never in the nexus. Kinda and unspoken rule...unless of course some twit hurts one of my friends.

*Towby's not so dented now...well give or take the few she hasn't yet managed to bash out like the one on her forehead* Beacause they don't know what it can do and that lack of knowledge scares them...and they hate it because it's existance shows just how much they don't understand. *she shrugs*

Meh my lot weren't that much different; we hate the predacons because their different and well...stupid really. Well that and they have a knack for getting in the way and ruining Scourge's plans.

She's noticed the lack of dents, alright, and so far she lacks the malice the Decepticons back home have.

"Made some good points, there," she says. "You know, most of the Decepticons back home seem to hate everything, being led a megalomaniac supremacist and all that." No prizes for guessing how she views her Megatron.

Thanks! *Towby just giggles* I haven't any reason to hate everything... it's kinda self defeating that. In fact there are very few things I hate...I dislike a lot of things but I don't actually hate them.

*she shrugs* Yeah I never said Dad was perfect; but he never hurt me...meh then again I did nick primes's trailer that one time and he thought it was funny. *she pauses thinking about it* Then of course he died and everything just went pear shaped.
