Maddie floats gently down into the Nexus, she has a thick, leather-bound book with her, it looks very old and tattered, but she's poring through it as if it was her lifeline. Printed in gold on its cover, are the words: The Rose Family Line. She looks up and blinks for a little while not realizing where she is, before smiling.

"Team-mates, friends; family. The people I see when I wake up each morning and before I go to recharge at night, who treat me like one of their own."

Kaci offers Maddie a soft and slightly melancholy smile.

"You look a lot like your mother."

"Those are great things to have.."

She smiles back wistfully.

"Thanks. Mom was, great."

"My friends," she says.

Raven pauses a moment, thinking of her own mother. "She must have loved you very much."

"I'm getting used to having those."

"She was a great mom."

She smirks slightly. "They're not so bad."

Her expression turns a little melancholy. "Something we have in common," she says. "Mine loved me very much."

"Mm. not bad at all."

"At least she didn't get killed by some whacked demon lord." She sighs.

That's a lovely picture. I'm sorry it - and her memory - are all you have of her, but it's very lovely. I think it's a great thing to die honorably.

For me, all three things you mentioned make me feel I belong. I have love, friends, and family to be my home.

She smiles. "Thanks. I'm proud of her."

"I'm learning to deal with friendship. Lost my family a long time ago, and love...ah hah. Maybe in the future."

You should be proud.

Friendship is difficult, yes. But you can choose your friends, and sometimes, sometimes that makes those relationships stronger. As for love...I'm very thankful for what and who I have, and I wish everyone could have the same.

She smiles. "Mom did good. I know how hard is must've been for her."

"Mm, that's true. Love is..not something I have experience with. But I hope I can get a chance to learn someday."

She smiles gently. "Nothing at all?"
