Yay, first book post and January isn't done!

1. Memoirs of a Geisha, Arthur Golden, 434 pages.

I'm probably the only woman in America who hasn't read this book by now. I haven't seen the movie, either. I know you're horrified, pygmymetal. That said...I found the book very pretty, and the parts about the day-to-day life of the geisha, fascinating, and the ( Read more... )

I have neither read the book nor seen the movie, and I expect this trend to continue.

My sympathy to you both on the throes as well; I've had a jeweled spork sort of week myself. And the no nicotine didn't help; I was a complete bitch on Monday.

i really enjoyed the book. i think the 2 best points for me were the imagery and the fact that it was written by a man. i am always impressed when i person can write from a perspective not their own, and still pull it off beautifully.
