Chapter 45

Among the turfs were big footsteps, though the help of the strong moon light she couldn’t see a glimpse of Grey Hunger. Only a light fog lay over the ground where the city had been.

“He did it!” Robin burst out. “He did it! But where did he go after it?”

“Hopefully back home.” said Irawain. “May you please step down?” he snorted and tossed his head.

They slowly slid down to the ground, and the stallion dashed off towards the rivulet without giving them time to say good bye. He burst through stones and grass, until he disappeared among the trunks; it was like one of the heavens falling stars had found the way through the forest.

When the sound of his hooves had died, the serenity was deep. Robin looked out over Lô na dûr and felt uneasy in the middle of the happiness, when she come to think of Ticka.

“What has made you suddenly sad, dear Robin?” asked Greenwood.

“I started to think of Ticka and the others that involuntarily got changed to Thin mân.” She said and felt how a tear run down her cheek.

Greenwood carefully stroked it away. “Don’t think of that. We have saved the word from turning over to be Grey and disappear at all.”

When she still seemed miserable he took her in his embrace and held her. After a moment he loosened it and casual let his lips stroke over her. “Since we have been so successful, you can call me by my Silvan name.”

“Can I,” Robin shine up.

“Of course, silly girl.” He bent forward and gave her a kiss on her cheek, again. “What we been through together we are friends, dear friends. We have everything to be happy for now. The world is able to shine again!”

“That we really have to hope,” said a voice behind them. Robin turned around and saw Rubus and a slender fairy that she hadn’t meet before. More beings came behind them.

“Mae Govannen, everyone!” said Legolas.

The serenity was over them and everyone stood silent.

Finally Legolas asked: “Did he eat anyone?”

“The Giant?” said the fairy, which in the moonlight seemed to bear lilac, from what Robin could see. “He treating to start eat poor Carex but we managed to persuade him that she was to thin and if he really wanted to gorge himself, he should look after the Hrávemat, that is both fat, tenderize and many, even if they are small. He went his way and now is everything calm, so he probably found them.”

“Hopefully he sleeps for a thousand years again,” said Robin with emphasis. “Talk about that; have you asked the Sleeper a new question?”

“No,” said Rubus. “He fell asleep before we were able to ask one. So now we have to see if we can manage without him. But with your help shall it not get that hard!”

“Come, everyone!” interrupted the lilac fairy him. “Soon it is dawn, and we shall have a party!”

They throw a last look at the serene Lô na dûr, and so they went to the meeting place, while the heaven shifted colour in the east and the birds starting singing.
