Disclaimer As all my stories and if you not remember look at the general info for the series.
Author's Notes: This is an Au to the Au series with Legolas ‘ Missne’ Greenleaf, as it wont follow the main story, but I like the thought of what William became in At World’s End. There can be some spoilers of stories that are in my planning of the series, which would explain one or another thing here.
I also took some liberty to change some of how the legend of the Captain of the Flying Dutchman is told in the Disney films.

Chapter 1
Further out in Great Britain, turned towards the Atlantic Ocean, a light blond figure stood watching the endless sea. The wind blew quite hard and the long hair flew freely around its head. The wind didn’t seem to be able to move the figure or change its mind. It was clear it was waiting for something.

Legolas had returned to England two months earlier, not only spend time with the girl he had come to see as his girlfriend in this world, he was there to witness his first grandchild be born. The child was now nearly seven weeks old and an adorable little girl.

No matter how nice and fun it was to be with his family, something had crept in that he couldn’t understand. Something had drawn him to the cape he was standing on. He didn’t know why.

For the last two weeks, Legolas had had this feeling that he needed to get to exactly this spot. Each day the feeling had grown in him. Nothing like it had happened before. If he had been in his dimension Legolas would have searched out Mithrandir or Galadriel, but their guidance was not reachable. He had this world's most powerful Ishtar’s, though he didn’t feel comfortable with the older ones and had felt satisfied with those he was spending most of the time with.

Harry Potter and Hermione Granger had put their knowledge together to try to find the origin of his feelings. Neither had found it, saying they never would have failed and it must have to be because he wasn’t from this world. With every failure was more disappointed. What also lowered their mood was that every time they tried, Legolas got more restless and less responsive.

Legolas could feel how much he was letting down his friend and girlfriend. The invisible thread drew so much from him that he was scared to lose his mind or even start to fade, so he could not do much about it other than try to find the source. When it seemed to suffocate him, he had finally given in and asked them to try to find this place where he was now. At least that was something they had been able to find out.

When Legolas had told them that he had a feeling that he needed to be alone there Harry and Hermione had been disappointed again, but seemed to accept it for something that he needed to go through. Probably thinking everything would get back to normal as soon as it was over.

Now Legolas was standing on the closest cliff to the sea. The water splashed high upon it, trying its best to submerge it. Some of it soaked his boots, but he didn’t seem to take notice. He would have had a choice to get into the water when he was an Edhellô* and that way would have hopefully found what was calling to him, but his memory of previous time he had spent in any sea, in this world, had put deep scars in him.

He shrugged at the memory, almost drawing backwards. There were so many things he had been through that had him terrified, and changed him. Part of him was missing and parts still loved. There was something now that he suspected had to do with it. He knew if he hadn’t had Aearion*, he very likely could have faded when he had fallen so in love with William Turner. There wasn't a day that Legolas didn't think of him, and it wouldn’t stop. Sure he had found someone else to love, but it was not the same.

There were days he wished he could go back and spend more time with Will. He wished he could have met him at least once more to tell him what their love had resulted in. Thinking of the joy it had brought him and also what Aearion had accomplished. It stuck his heart that Will would never know, because he was long gone from this world.

First time he had been back to this world, many, many years after he had said good bye to Will, he had searched for him. Even after he had learned that he had come to a different place and time. He hadn’t found anything that had indicated when or where he had died. Legolas had wanted to try to visit the place to show that he still loved him, but with no trace, he didn’t know where. He just had to accept it.

Legolas took his hand that had been chilled from the wind and stroke away the tears that had run down his cheeks. The pain of loss almost drove him into the sea. Knowing if he just had let go, the salt in the water would, in the end, weaken him, bringing him to his biggest love of all worlds.

Though there was something that held him back. He also knew or felt it wasn’t his destiny yet to vanish from the living. Even if he for a moment had consider diving into the ocean, something in the back of his mind told him that he would miss the thing that was drawing him to Cape Wrath.
