The first thing Johnny did when he arrived home was take a shower to be on the safe side, since he hadn’t given himself time to do it at the set. He was only a little unsure on exactly how long he had to make all the necessary preparations.
After drying himself he smoothed on some of Orlando’s body lotion; he had come to like the fragrance of it and loved to smell his lover on his skin. He hadn’t picked out any special clothes, since he was counted that they weren’t really all that significant and that at some point during the night, they would hopefully come off.
Passing through the living room, he crossed to the stereo. There was always some CD in it, but he had created a special one for the evening, mostly filled with love songs. Quite pleased with the ones he’d chosen - even if they weren’t ones he usually listened to - he’d heard most of them on the radio at one time or another and they’d stayed in his head, leaving him only to find their titles. The titles fit what he felt for Orlando. He left the CD being the only one in the disc-changer so no other would play.
Johnny had almost called a restaurant to make the meal, but had decided at the last minute to try to cook it himself as the food’s aroma would fill the house. One of the first things he fixed was the potatoes, because he would put them in the oven since they would take the longest to heat all the way through.
Next, he set the table. He’d bought a white linen tablecloth, which he lay on the table that they’d settled in their combined kitchen and dining room. He placed two plates on the table, surrounding them with wine glasses, napkins and cutlery. Between their places, he set a candelabra and a few roses. Looking at the table when he was finished, he smiled: it definitely appeared romantic.
Satisfied, Johnny turned back to finish fixing the food. Chopping up some vegetables, he worked to prepare the entrecote, soon losing himself in his own world.
