Chapter 2
Because how the day had gone for Carolyn, she didn’t feel like staying at the office to continue working on her latest article. Luckily she still had a few days until the deadline and she was almost finished with it.

As she looked at herself, she wished she had another shirt or blouse in her desk, but she never thought she’d need to a have one extra. The jacket she’d borrowed had to be used again, since it hid most of the spots. The coffee had left a big brown stain, smeared from the guy’s attempt to wipe it off. It was not on the very nice place, since it looked like her breast had leaked. Then she had several red spots from sauce of chinese food she had eaten. At least she was glad they hadn’t been there when she had done her interview.

Before she shut off the computer she saved some of her files on a disc, in case she wanted to work on it when she got home. She liked her job. One of the benefits was it did allow her to do some of her work at home. It also felt better because there she wouldn’t have her boss hanging over her shoulder. She hated to be checked on and corrected. Sitting at the office there was always the chance of someone coming in and noticing something before she was even finished.

It was past six o’clock, so not as many people were around and this time there weren’t any incidents. Those that were on their way seemed not to notice how she was dressed. Carolyn got her hopes up some, since the day in whole didn’t seem as dark it had been from the very beginning, when she had woken up.

At home when she changed to something less casual she came to think that she never learned the guy’s name who let her borrowed his jacket. Wondering how she would be able to return it she started to check the jacket. She saw it wasn’t a cheep one, which made her want to return it even more. In one of the pockets she found a packet of ‘John Silver’, with only a few left. There was a Zippo lighter. Inside another of the pockets there was a pen and a few coins. Carolyn also found some scrap of something that looked like dry fodder. What she didn’t find was an address or phone number of the owner. Not even a name. In her search she had felt the smell of him and it was very attractive.

Carolyn put the jacket down and picked up her phone. Since it had happen at the Dorchester Hotel he might be a guest there. She didn’t think he worked there since the clothes he’d been wearing were too fancy. Looking up the number in the phone book, she started to dial it.

When the phone was picked up on the other end she asked for the person that had been working at the front desk around one, when the incident had taken place.

“You’re lucky my friend, if you hold a moment I’ll catch him for you.”

Five minutes later she heard the phone picked up.

“Mr. Garth at your service. What can I help you with?”

Carolyn told her story and crossed her fingers that Garth would know who she meant.

“I’m sorry, but he isn’t one of our guest’s. Though if I remember correctly, he must have been… Mr. Mortensen’s friend.”

“Do you know his name or how I could get a hold of him?”

“Like I said, he is a friend of one of our guests and it’s our policy not to give out names. But since I was a witness to what happened I can see if I can get a hold of Mr. Mortensen for you and you can ask him.”

“That would be very kind of you.”

“Hold on and I will try.”

While she waited, she heard some classical music playing and all too soon Garth was back on the phone.

“I’m sorry, Miss, but I did not get an answer. I can leave a message for him if that would help.”

“Please, would you that for me?”

“I will, since you sound sincere.”

Carolyn left both her home number and the one from work. Now she just had to wait and hope.

She made some tea and sat down in front of the tv, flipping through the channels. It seemed there was nothing that could hold her interest for long. She stopped on one that she thought she could doze off to. As she laid there on her coach, every now and then she’d get a scent from the guys jacket.

After awhile she saw those brown eyes in front of her. The face smiled and when she let her eyes travel down she saw that he was only clothed in a pair of trousers, that seemed to go with the jacket. He said something, but she couldn’t understand it. In a way the voice didn’t match with what the mouth tried to say. She tried to concentrate more and it only got stranger. The guy in front of her seemed to get angry and started to shake her. ‘..there is nothing greater than deciding in your life… that things maybe really are black and white!’

With a snap Carolyn woke up. Looking at the tv she saw that they were showing Elizabethtown. At once she was awake and in a few seconds absorbed in the film. When the next close up picture came of Orlando Bloom, it was like she had been hit.

It was HIS jacket she had.

Carolyn was so pissed at herself that she hadn’t recognized him. The world around her was colored red and she cursed her bad day of not being more alert. She started to pray that Viggo would call her, so she could get Orlando’s number and a chance to meet him again.
