Johnny was happy that Orlando seemed to have his hands full during the day. They had barely seen each other since they’d arrived on set and left the trailer they shared. Another thing he was glad of: it seemed like his filming schedule that day was much less than Orlando’s and in that meant that he’d have the time to do all the things he’d planned for that night.
It had slowly started after Orlando’s birthday. Johnny wanted to make something special for his lover something that would show what he felt for him, something that would show all the love he held in his heart for the younger man. He had denied it for such long time, and then been very leery to tell Orlando his true feelings.
From the moment Orlando had come to him, telling Johnny the feelings he held for him, Johnny had been more than little causal about it, since he was unsure as to where his own feelings lay. Then there had been that fateful night in Toronto... a night where destiny seemed to have decided for him.
Now he felt sure about his feelings. He felt whole in a way he’d not ever before experienced. The feelings seemed to increase every day that passed and solidified after they had moved in together. He hadn’t wanted to hear of Orlando buying his own place, even going so far as to threaten to end what they had started if he did. The lad had quickly thrown any house-buying ideas away, believing Johnny would have put the threat into reality.
If Johnny been too careful, to casual and not always the best at showing how and what he felt, he had clearly decided to change that from now on. That past month, he had tried to figure out, without causing any suspicion, just how he could tell Orlando, not with mere words, that he held Johnny’s heart.
Having returned from buying the last ingredient for one of Orlando’s favourite dinners, he’d written a letter to leave at Orlando’s dressing table in the trailer.
At first, he’d had a problem with how to word it; being it really mattered, he had difficulty finding the right words. It had taken several hours and more than a few drafts before he was happy with what he’d written. He hoped it included much of his feelings and aroused Orlando’s innate curiosity.
Finally, scribing it on a sheet of red paper, Johnny read it through one last time.
I was bad earlier when I did not show my feelings, and that I do regret. Certainly, now I hope that I’ve learnt from my earlier mistakes and moments passed. I will take this chance and many more to say these words to you - I love you.
You know what day it is… and I don’t want this day to be like anyone else’s. Since it’s the first day that we will spend as a couple, at least in view of ourselves and our closest friends, I’ve planned something special.
When you read this, I will have left to make preparations to show you where my heart lies. If I’m not wrong… you feel the weight and wish for a peaceful evening… and that is what I intend to give you.
So, my love… I’m ready for you to come home.

Johnny signed it with a J and a few hearts, then folded it, putting it inside a white envelope. He didn’t write anything on the front, or seal it, believing no one else would read it.
Thanks to their schedule, he finished earlier than Orlando and had no problem placing it in front of the mirror where he new his love would see it, before taking his things to head home to start dinner.
