This is especially for zee113 wishlist prompt. - Holiday Though it set in the ‘verse mentioned above, I’m not the first creator of the characters I just borrowed them from cynical_terror and her lovely story Chalk Butterfly, when she had it as fanfiction. She has publish it now as an original story, and if you haven't read it, please do is so much worth reading. You find it at Amazon Here, Orlando-Alexander and Viggo-Daniel.
I'm not as good as her, or know as much about Epidermolysis Bullosa, so please bear that in mind.
Spoiler warning: I have no idea if there is anything that would help any person with epidermolysis bullosa to use for a friction-free intercourse. As this is fiction, I made it up for the fic.

Summary: Hopefully it will be an extra good Christmas, or at least a more pain free one. Orlando whished that.

Part 1
He hadn’t expected that the worst would have healed so quickly. It never had before. Orlando had constantly struggled to keep his skin healed during the winter, when there were always new blisters somewhere on his body. Now there were only one big patch on his right hand that needed extra care and some small ones on his feet. The mepitel was really a wonder cure for him. He was so thankful that Viggo never complained it was expensive and always made sure they had it at home.

Orlando did remember the times he’d fought to buy even the cheaper bandages and take care of his skin, which seemed to be more of a big watery wound during the cold season. Back then he always had to use every ounce to smile when it was Yuletide, as he so wanted it to be spring and warmer weather. After he meet Viggo, he’d slowly came to handle the dark time of the year better, and this year he actually looked forward some to Yuletide. Of course there were still things he would not do and things to avoid, like going to the mall for Christmas shopping. There would be all too much risk to be pushed around by all the people at the stores. He was happy for the Internet and online shopping, where he could do through the sites. He had found several good gifts for his friends and Viggo, of course.

He also noticed that Viggo had made time to do some shopping, and he had decorated their home. That helped Orlando to feel a little more of the expected Christmas cheer he’d tried to avoid previous years.

With the good condition of his skin, Orlando had come to the decision that he wanted to give Viggo a very, very special gift. He knew there would probably be some pain included, but he knew that it would be worth it.

At Christmas Eve they held a dinner for their friends, and they had a good time. Orlando felt very good. During the day, they had first been to Viggo’s mother and then had Orlando’s for a dinner at their house. So there had been more Christmas celebrating than Orlando was used to having. Now they were alone and it was time to exchange their gifts to each other.

Viggo gave a large packet to Orlando. Carefully he opened it, it was heavy and in the box was some books that he had mentioned he would like to read. He knew it most have taken Viggo quite some time to get them, and also cost him a lot, as they were rare to get hold off. Orlando was very happy to get them, but felt bad of what he had to come with.

He handed the two small wrapped packets to Viggo. If Orlando would had had the bad habit of chewing on his nails, he probably would have. Viggo started to open the bigger one and then gave Orlando a smile when he saw the oil paint. It was a safe gift, Orlando knew his boyfriend would be happy with it as he liked to paint. The second was the one gift that made Orlando most nervous. He had no idea how it would be received. He sat jiggling his foot.

If they had been in an apartment, they would have easily heard what the neighbours was doing. Viggo looked at Orlando, seeing how nervous he was, and so knowing this gift was the one that meant most. He wanted to give Orlando a satisfactory reaction, but he had no clue what was in it. He couldn’t think of anything that would put his love in such state. To make it worth the wait, he didn’t just rip the gift open - he opened it carefully. It didn’t feel like it did need that much caution, but Orlando’s nervousness was infectious.

Viggo stared on the box he had just revealed after removing the wrapping paper. He wasn’t sure if this was the right packet or what Orlando meant with such a gift.

“Is this what I think it is?” Viggo asked as he turned the box towards Orlando.

The younger guy just nodded. It was quite amount of time before Viggo said anything again.

“Do you believe it will work, and not… give you any discomfort?”

“It’s the best I could find, and no, I’m not sure it won’t stop anything from happening, but after the research I did, this might be the one thing that comes close to be friction free. I really want us to do it and if it works, we wouldn’t need to not have sex for weeks, as we are forced to now. I really want to try. I’m so tired of the…”

“Calm down, love. You know I’m okay with things as they are, but if it will make you happy… no problem.” Viggo rose and went over to Orlando and embraced him.

When they been sitting there for close to thirty minutes, Viggo broke the silence. “Truthfully, I so can understand you, that you are tired of what your epidermolysis puts you through. It is hard for me at times too, you know.”

Viggo both saw and felt Orlando’s nod. They had known about it from the beginning of their relationship. That it would include a lot of restriction and thinking twice many times before they might do anything, and it always would be Orlando who had to suffer most. Especially when it was his skin that would blister and mostly likely turn into wounds.

“So this would help us have sex and hopefully keep you from blistering and being in pain.” Viggo looked at the box as he placed on the table.

“Yes, though I’m unsure it will help 100 percent. You’ve seen what happens with my skin, even with a little amount of friction.”

Viggo know how easy Orlando’s skin blistered, he’d seen it many times and know it was because of the illness. He also knew that Orlando had one of the milder versions. He had read that for some it could be deadly, and there were those that could have even find too hard to eat if the food wasn’t soft enough. He was very happy that Orlando didn’t suffer of that.

“You know I’m on your side andI’m sure we will be happy if it helps even a little. And if it doesn’t do anything for you, that’s okay for me. I love you as you are.”

Orlando didn’t say anything. Viggo knew he would learn what his young lover was feeling when he was ready to tell him. He was very touched that Orlando tried as much as he did to make him even more happy. Viggo never seemed to convince Orlando that he was blissful for what they had.

Even though Orlando clearly had said he wanted to try that evening, Viggo persuade him to wait until Boxing day. Viggo felt that Orlando would be all too nervous and stressed for it to be good and he didn’t risk too much pressure or friction, which could lead to giving him new blisters. Viggo did have another reason to make them wait, he wanted to have time to look things up and read for himself if it really would help them.

It seemed like it was a good choice to wait. Orlando was definitely more relaxed, and they had a whole day just for themselves which meant they had more leisure and a chance for a better result. If the circumstances hadn’t been as they were, Viggo might have just laughed about the whole situation and what would be necessary to make it as good as possible for Orlando. He didn’t, as he really knew how things could turn out. Since they had meet, he had learned a lot about what the disease did to those affected, and to those around the person. He seen what could happen with Orlando’s skin when it got exposed to friction, when he was pushed too hard and not carefully tended. How long time it took even ordinarily to keep his skin in good condition. At a lot of times it seemed it took so little, compared with normal people, to make things difficult. He definitely wanted to make things as easy as possible for Orlando. That was why he helped with some of the cost of bandages in the beginning when he had afforded it and it helped Orlando’s bank account, which was low just because he couldn’t work as a normal person.

“How tired are you?” Viggo asked, as they had finished watching the mini-series that had just aired on TV.

“Not that much, why?” Orlando replied.

“I was thinking we could move to the bedroom, and test that new present you gave me.”

Orlando smiled, but didn’t move or said anything for a long moment. He inspected his hands, both knowing that if they looked good, things was better for the rest of body.

“We can do. I was almost afraid that I had scared you off.”

“No, no, no Orlando. I want you to know I’m with you all the time, and I want you to be happy, but I never want you to feel forced to do anything that isn’t healthy for you.”

With a very light grip on Orlando’s left hand, they rose together and went to their bedroom.

*~*End for now*~*

Author extra note: I do have the scene in their bedroom and the aftermath in mind to write, but I felt I needed to try to write on the other xmas stories before I continue. I do have written quite a length on this anyway from what I first planned. If I got all written it might be longer or you get the part 2 shortly.
