"I see… said the vampire thoughtfully, and slowly he walked across the room towards the window. For a long time he stood there against the dim light from Divisadero Street and the passing beams of traffic. The boy could see…"
Louis looked up from his grooming. Let the clothes brush stop half way down. He gave Armand a stare, but it was in vain as he continued reading out loud.
"…the furnishings of the room more clearly now, the round oak table, the chairs. A wash basin hung on one wall with a mirror. He set his briefcase on the table and waited."
"How can you read it? I don't want to hear anymore." Louis said as he walked from the room. He knew the story all too well.
"Oh, come on Louis. It's a good story. You met me." Armand put down the book and went after Louis.
"That was one of the good things, but that doesn't mean I want to hear it. I should never have let it get publish. I've never been a media whore."
"It's what I love about you. That you never been like our 'friend' Lestat." Armand caught his lover.
Louis melted in Armand's arms. He never could stay angry at him for very long.
"I just think there are so many other materials that you can be reading than that old story."
"Do you mean like the True Blood, Twilight, Vampire Diaries or Dark-Hunters books?"
"Yeah, why not?"
"You can't be serious? Those are so not the real one." Armand stroked Louis over his white skin. "Vampires that can walk in the sunshine…"
Louis turned around in his lover's arms.
"They're fiction and popular."
"I know. But at least one thing you have to agree with me and that is that you miss the whining of Lestat and you are the one that started everything."
"You wrong at that. There is Dracula, Nosferatu, Salem's Lot, Carmilla or I Am Legend, do I need to list more?"
"No, you made your point. I'll stop if we can have some fun."
They had their fun for the rest of the night and that didn't include any books.
