6. Ice
Sean quickly checked on Alisa and was relieved that she had gone back to sleep, knowing that he could concentrate on Orlando. He went to the kitchen and took out some ice from the freezer, that he then placed in a plastic bag before wrapping a towel around it.

Back in the bedroom, he placed the ice bag over Orlando's forehead, hoping it would cool him down and wake him up. If it didn't help, Sean knew that he had to get him to the hospital. If that was the case, Sean needed to put on better clothes.

It was some agonizing minutes until finally Orlando showed some change.

7. Grumpy
At first, Orlando rolled his head back and forth, which made the ice pack fall off, and Sean saw how he tried to draw the quilt closer.

"Orlando, please talk to me. What is wrong with you?"

With a thick and almost inaudible voice, Orlando tried to say something. Sean leaned closer and he could hear the grumpiness coming from Orlando. He would probably not be so happy if he was sick either.

Even if Orlando was awake, Sean could not stop his concern. He had yet to get an understandable sentence from Orlando. The icepack had also made him to start to shake.

"That's it! I'm taking you to the hospital."

8. Car
It took a while to get both his loved ones dressed and carried out to the car. To keep them warm, he settled the quilt around Orlando, and the plaid around Alisa. He also put the heat on high in the car to keep the chill from the January weather at bay.

Sean was happy that they had traded in their old car for a better one was more suited for a family, so it didn't take long before it was warm. It was still early morning, so there wasn't much traffic, so it wouldn't take that long to get to the hospital. It also helped that the snow that had come a week ago had melted and disappeared after all the rain they'd had.

Arriving forty minutes later outside the ER, both his charges were still sleeping. Sean dared to leave them in the car until he had gone to get help for Orlando.

9. Tight

They had taken Orlando directly into a room to examine him and Sean was also shown in there as soon as he came from parking the car. He tried to answer the doctor's questions as well as he could. He felt there wasn't much he could say, when Orlando hadn't even mentioned that he felt sick.

Again, it seemed to be hard to wake Orlando, so that he could be responsive for the check up. The doctor seemed unable to figure out what was wrong and he showed more concern as the examination progressed. There was nothing visible that indicated what was wrong, only the fever and unnatural sleep.

Not long after, Sean watched as a lot of machines were connected to Orlando, and felt his concern grow, especially when some of the machines gave out warning sounds. When it looked bad, he was showed out of the room so the doctor's could work.

What felt like hours later, the doctor finally came to see Sean and Alisa. He told them that things had been very tight, and that they had almost lost Orlando. Had Sean waited any longer, it may have been too late.

When they finally found what was wrong, it didn't take long to prescribe the right medication, and remove what shouldn't have been forgotten. It was the remaining stitches from when Orlando had given birth that had not been removed, which had slowly become infected.

The doctor promised that there would not be anything left this time, and that Orlando would recover fully, but even though they had removed the threat, they wanted to keep him until the next day for observation. Sean was happy that Alisa wasn't more than a few weeks old, as she didn't crave much more than to be fed, changed and to sleep, which meant that they could stay with Orlando.

10. Scar
Seeing Orlando wake was such relief for Sean, that he only then understood how anxious he had been. Orlando at first was disoriented and then worried about Alisa. Sean had to both explain and show him that there was no need to fear for her.

Orlando's worry didn't lessen as he believed that he had failed Sean, and even held him from his work. Sean tried to reassure Orlando that nothing was more important than for Sean to see his love live, so that together they could take care of Alisa. He said that if he had lost Orlando, he would have had a scar that never would heal.

During the following days Sean stayed at home to make sure that Orlando did not overstrain himself, and to help take care of their daughter. In doing so, he learned that it was a great gift they had, and that maybe he wasn't a bad dad.
