Oh, that's awesome! You're like Ally McBeal :D OK, I know my view on lawyers is very limited :D

And yes, Evan really messed up his short program, but the long one was excellent! His parents come from the Czech Republic, so I was cheering for him as well :D My personal favorite, Stephane Lambiel, won the silver, which is great. And Evgeny Plushenko is simply a genius - his skating always gives me goosebumps :)

I didn't know Evan had Czech heritage! It makes sense, since his name sounds Czech, but my poor little brain didn't put that together.

I normally like women's figure skating MUCH more than men's... but this year I got really into the men's event for some reason. Hmmmm, maybe they were better looking than usual? ;) Anyway, now I'm looking forward to the women's event so I can get my ice skating fix.

Women's skating always used to be a highlight for me, but few years ago it changed and men's category became by far my favorite. I guess it's because the guys started to include those artsy things as well, so it wasn't just about jumps. They are of course faster and usually aren't afraid to unfasten the programs a bit :) And I totally love their footwork - have you seen Joubert's "tap-dancing"? :) Pity he messed up the jumps, he used to be excellent at them in the previous seasons.

I'm sorry that Michelle Kwan won't compete - she's so likable, she has a very graceful style and usually wears very pretty dress :)

I also prefer ice-dancing to pair skating, even though I can't tell the difference between the first and the last pair :) I guess it's because I don't have to be afraid they'd fall :)

Bob, I'm totally spamming your LJ, sorry :D

Spamming? Pffft! That's what LJ's are for.

Yeah, I think the men's programs, on the whole, tend to be a little more unconventional. Instead of just grace and atistry, they also incorporate a little more flair and humor... Oh, but I feel very uninformed saying this and should shut up now and watch the women's programs with an open mind.

I've been a little out of the loop and didn't realize Michelle Kwan wasn't competing (although I'm sure if I watched more than a few minutes here or there that news would have been unavoidable).

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! It feels so great to have a court agree with you! How gratifying. I'm so very, very happy for you and all your classmates who worked so hard on that case.

And you missed a fantastic episode of Lost. You definitely can download from iTunes and, if you haven't done so already, I strongly suggest that you do. I personally think it was one of the best episodes in a while.

And, yes, Lysacek's free skate last night was just beautiful. It was so nice to see him have his own olympic moment last night after skating so disastrously in his short program. He seems like a genuinely sincere guy, and those guys always get a special place in my heart in the Olympics. I always like to see them do well, even if they don't medal.

Thank you! I'm very proud of us, too. And we have good timing with finding out the result because we're having a meeting/party with our club's Board of Advisors on Wednesday, so it's a good excuse to celebrate.

You've convinced me... I'm going to download it from iTunes. I'm sure we'll have lots to discuss. I can't wait!

Hey, nothing beats great timing. Enjoy the celebration - you guys have earned it.

Yay! I'll look forward to it. It's quite the chock-full episode. :)

It was, and even after it was over I still wouldn't have called it a "good experience" because I felt like I was going through post-traumatic stress (or in my case, post-stress angst?), but now I think I'm starting to approach that point. Getting this good result helped, and so did having the party with the first year students where Pedro and I gave them the play by play of all the drama of the actual trial.

Congratulations!! And yay, you for finding out the news early for everyone!

Aah, now I understand... I haven't been watching the skating, and I couldn't understand my dad's comments about how the skaters all kept "falling on their butts"... Poor guys. That doesn't seem fair.

Thank you! I love being a detective. Or maybe it's just vigiliant... Either way, it was fun to be the one breaking the news to everybody else.

I'm really hoping the women don't have the same issue -- I really don't want to see them doing as much falling. :(
