Ugh. I hate when people say you have to schedule your high school classes to impress colleges. You know what? They are liars. We had to take 3 years of a language in high school, and now in the UC system, they're thinking of cutting the languages program for people whose major don't require it. BULL. SHIT. It's so hypocritical ( ... )

I really think it is, and I think the competetiveness of the whole thing is pretty bad for kids' mental health, too. :\ I don't want us to be a stupid nation or anything, but I think there's something really fucking wrong when kids who have A averages feel like they're not good enough because they haven't won national competitions or something. And I think that it can often be self-defeating, too, because kids start taking classes way below their level so that they can be assured of an A ( ... )

ISU IS WHERE THEY TEACH YOU HOW TO GROW POTATOES

ALSO I TOTALLY DON'T CONFUSE IDAHO WITH IOWA OR ANYTHING, NATCH. ;D

Oh, I did. And I could feel the great time allllll of Sunday, too. xD The soreness isn't even completely gone now- my neck still complains when I try to bend it forward.

YOU SHOULD GO TO RUTGERS. It's just more expensive for out-of-state students. We do have a lot of international students, though. My friend Sruti is from India.

Ooh! International people! :D Maybe if Rutgers gives me a good deal of financial aid... I really don't want to have to resort to student debt. Bleeeeeh.

My friend-who's-related-to-Alexander-Hamilton-and-whom-I-TOTALLY-think-is-your-long-lost-twin was raised largely in India- her other childhood home is Afghanistan. xD She's planning to head back there and work at her old boarding school if she can...

I'm asking the people at my dinner table here, and they seem to think that given your current life situation, you'd get a pretty nice chunk of change.

LOL, you wanna know what's funny? I'm distantly related to Aaron Burr ^o^ Hoepfully we'll get along better than our ancestors did. No duels this time.

I better. I'll play the LOOK-AT-ME-I'M-A-POOR-LIKKLE-FOSTER-CHILD card if I have to, but I despise it enough that it'd BETTER be worth it.

XDDD I know, you told me! And you might... or you might not. I think it's a bit funny, actually. Your views on killing, particularly the legislative kind, are the same, and I think your overall ideologies of economic and social justice are quite similar; but she's a one-God-only-God evangelical Christian, and you two hold different views on teh gheys (though she's never been anywhere near as adamant about her views on teh gheys as she has been about killing). I can't quite decide whether you'd get along famously, or if the universe would spontaneously combust with wtf if you twain should meet.

Wellesley rocks. Just so you know. My friend got displaced from Tulane/Newcomb and Wellesley took her in and it was magic. Plus, the school resembles Hogwarts. Seriously.

I hope I see you in 201!

As for college apps, be daring. My biggest regret was listening to a teacher I really looked up to. Because of him, I didn't apply to a lot of top-notch schools I could have totally made it into. He killed my self-esteem so badly, I stayed in Alaska for a guy. Please don't be that person! LOL!

You'll do great and it sounds like next year will be awesome. Go, you!

Wellesley's campus looks gorgeous. Plus, the student life sounds totally up my alley.

Damn teachers. D< Gotta love them, but I kinda make a point to avoid listening too much to any single person about college apps. I have absolutely no desire for the hit to my self-esteem that might occur if one of them starts, say, bitching about the B's on my transcript. Blegh.

:D Thank you, and I'm sure you will too! Your work ethic is a lot better than mine, I think...
