A party? You can expect me there, then.

Nice to meet you. Lt. Commander Itou speaking.

You seem to be a party animal, Lt. Commander.

Just eager to meet my new crew mates. I've been here less than a week, after all.

Eager, huh?

Er... "Broken Rat Trap"? I have never been there, but it sounds like an unsavory establishment...

Still, a pleasure to meet you. I am Major Leo de Alkirk, Helmsman. A recent reassignment, much like yourself.

Eh? That's interesting. A lot of new blood on the ship.

No, it only says that. It seems to be a sailor thing. They serve the best lobster bisque and fish and chips. Order as much and put it on the bill of Hijikata Toshirou.

I look forward to meeting you, Major.

Now that you mention it, there seems to be quite a few, yes.

Is that so? I will never understand why sailors prefer their bars to seem as seedy as possible. I would not object to trying that lobster bisque...

Has this already been approved, then?

The party? It's an informal party, Sir. Nothing grand. Given out of the kindness of Hijikata-san's heart and his pocket. He is an old friend of mine. He felt sentimental in having a friend aboard.

The lobster bisque is good sir. Order as much as you want.

Ah, welcome to the Victoria II, Lieutenant.

And that seems like a thoughtful gesture from Major Hijikata.

Thank you, officer.

It was indeed a nice gesture. Until he called his old friend a lying liar.

Ah... Hijikata-san's going through difficult times now. It's probably because he's been constipated lately.

I'm sure he didn't mean it, did he?

Shouldn't he take medicine for his constipation then? Or sir Francis might know of a way to relieve it somehow.

Thankfully I'm a very forgiving person so I shall let this past. This is how our friendship is.

I don't know if he's taken medicines. He's not the type who would admit to his sickness. But do please be sensitive about it when you approach him. I will talk to the chef about his dietary needs. He needs to get rid of his constipation.

Hijikata is?

...

Well. Welcome aboard, Lieutenant.
I'm Commander Samuel Vimes. Boatswain.

I'd say 'if you need anything, you can ask me', but that would be a lie. And it sounds like you can just ask Hijikata, anyway.

Yes he is. Or was. But is too shy to admit that he's throwing the party. He's not the type who really flaunts his generosity.

Thank you for your warm welcome Commander. I will inform you or Hijikata-san if I have any needs.
