Well, let's see. Today was Hannah's 6 month checkup. Everything went well. She is 15 pounds and 27 inches long. She's on the average side for weight, but is longer than the average baby her age. And she got her immunization shots today so she was crabby the rest of the day when we got home and went to bed a little early. My little girl is so ( Read more... )

you definitely have the right to bitch about Bryan, considering he's doing what he's doing, and blaming it all on you... 'cause you know, you know absolutely NOTHING even though you basically spend every waking moment with your daughter. and you know, it's not like YOU'RE the one that's going to the doctor's appointments or anything. and if he didn't want responsibility (unless of course, it's convenient for him), then he should've made sure that nothing was going to happen. not saying that Hannah isn't just the most precious thing ever, but he shouldn't have had a child if he wanted time to himself.

I was glad to read this because I started Emily with cereal in her bottle at two months, just at night. Today I was going to do cereal off the spoon but I'm so damn confused about it lol. I don't know how much/how often so I guess I'll leave that up to the pedi.

But props to you for standing your ground. :)

Just wondering do you breast or bottle feed? I'm just curious cause I bottle feed and I've always heard you introduce solids earlier and I haven't so I didn't know if you were the same.

I bottlefeed. I don't know, I know that some babies do start solids earlier. The way my doctor explained it was that if she is happy with just her formula and doesn't need more fullfilment than that, then to hold off on the solids until 6 months. That's what he said to me and Hannah was perfectly satisfied with just formula - she would sleep ALL night just on that.

You know what you are doing with waiting on the cereal and then gradually stepping up to more solids. A lot of people do start earlier but it still isn't the right thing. If he wanted to be there for all of her 1st things then he should have brought it up with you a long time ago because I seriously doubt you would tell him no. If he has to be reminded of her doc. appt's 4394893 times then that is his fault that he missed it. What would he do if she were living with him and only visiting you on weekends? He would do the same thing you are doing. Explain to him that you're not his mother but his ex. and you already have a full time job with one baby and you dont need 2!
