3x13: Reaction

The hiatus is over. Finally.
Truth be told, a month back I wasn't so sure I'd bother to watch Supernatural again. Things weren't optimal in lots of ways, and to think of that about something I've dearly loved, spent hours obsessing over and delighted in? Was one of the clues that tipped me into seeing the downward spiral.

I didn't get the Coven poster either. Is it a reference to something?

There wasn't any flamingoes. Methinks their budget for flamingoes was spent in Mystery Spot.

As for Coven... based on what little I can make out, it's probably a poster for a black-and-white horror movie made in 2000. Quite fitting, considering the Ghostfacers, their amateur status and their attempts to create something completely on their own.
Maybe the movie, the story behind it, served as an inspiration for Ed and Harry and co.?

I wonder if someone's already listed the multiple pop-culture references in this ep...

I was just reading your post! And drawing pink, glittery hearts all over the place!

There are no words to describe how damn happy I am that I can honestly pause and rewind if I miss a scene due to laughing so hard, or adoring the boys and their physique... That and seeing the ep without commercials... Worth the wait, even if I do miss out on the initial *squee*, and have to stay far, far away from LJ for the whole of Friday. :)
Especially when we get an episode like this.

Sam and Dean cannot be on TV. Not even non-wincestly. It makes me sad.
And feel bad about all the scenarios the fans put them through on top of the canon.

I love your icon, btw. No wonder that phrase got iconed immediately. ;)

Outsider POV has been my wet dream for a good while, now. So this? *LOVE*
If only I could (and wasn't battered by all the Winchester POV-bunnies) I'd try and write an Outsider POV fic. One with Henriksen would be such a treat...even if he's canonically dead, now. But before, during S2, early S3... *grabby hands*

The whole team behind Spn is amazing, indeed. The boys just hog the spotlight. ;)

So much love. For the Show and the fandom right now. Even the realization that the Season Ending Trio will start next Thursday hasn't managed to harsh my squee for this. It's just gotten me slightly worried about what's going to happen, what with this being relatively light and funny and campy and all...and Kripke & co.'s confessed habit of following 'funny' episodes with darker and heavier stuff. And vice versa.

Now I just wonder how Andy's "gay porn all hours of the day"-comment could be viewed in light of this latest development. Even if porn and love have preciously little in common...

Dude, I didn't even remember to miss the flamingos! But I did notice the deer's head, though it seemed a little worn? chewed in one shot (unless they had several deer heads).

I love how consistent they've kept the characters. Sam's willing to explain and think, he's the one who knows. Dean? Dean acts, based on what he knows.

OMG, now I remember what the "Sam turns to the camera and explains" bit reminded me about. 2x16 Roadkill (another outsider!pov ep!) and Sam talking to Molly. My love for the internal consistency of the show cannot be textually rendered!!!

Yes, it is! And it looked like an actual sunrise and it reflected so beautifully from the Impala (though when the GF team and boys were on-screen the red-orangish light seemed to be more due to a filter than the sun itself but I'm not 100% sure about that).

Emo Shirt of Doom because there's only two months left and they did their Grand Canyon trip already.

This is exactly what my broken fan-fu for Supernatural needed. The laughs and the music and the Boys and the scares and the thrills and the consistencies...and all that jazz. *LOVE*

Usual Suspects (2x07) and Roadkill were both Outsider POV eps, but not enough to fulfill my desire. Up 'til Henriksen's death I was dreaming about a Henriksen-ep, where the boys would only be glimpsed: in the TV news being escorted in handcuffs to the squad car/jail, couple of comments exchanged, the "Winchesters According to Special Agent Victor Henriksen".
Still dreaming, but in a fic-format, and bemoaning the fact that the bloody agent isn't telling me enough about his life to work with. *grumble*
This, though...so much LOVE.

Emo Shirt of Doom! I was so busy gleeing over the episode that it wasn't until hugemind pointed out the emo shirt that I even noticed it (wow, is that not me or what?). And even then, I was too busy spazzing out that I forgot to mention it in my reply to her episode reaction. So horray for the shirt! I think it's only appropriate being that Sam was wearing it when the Grand Canyon was first brought up way back in Croatoan/Hunted. ;P

I want the boys to cross paths with 'professional' ghosthunters more. And since Ed and Harry survived... *has high hopes* Maybe they'll be the boys' big nemesises for Season Four? Kind of like Buffy and the Geek Trio in Season Six... :p
