3x13: Reaction
The hiatus is over. Finally.
Truth be told, a month back I wasn't so sure I'd bother to watch Supernatural again. Things weren't optimal in lots of ways, and to think of that about something I've dearly loved, spent hours obsessing over and delighted in? Was one of the clues that tipped me into seeing the downward spiral.
Despite all that, here I am again.
Dodging spoilers and succeeding, too, since all I know about 3x13 is that it'll feature Jared, Jensen and the Car.
Dear husband, though... he's not a spoilerphobe. And I threatened him with physical harm if he lets slip the names of the last episodes of Season Three. But because he knows me, my sensitivity to narrativium, he's been a dear, and trying to forget about it all.

It fits. And it's awesome. Because things aren't clear-cut anymore, "Hunting things, saving people" worked back in the beginning, but it's all gotten muddled up, and sometimes it's hunting people, sometimes it's saving things... Sometimes it's really up to the boys to be the judge and the jury, dance in the twilight of grey morals; the good of one vs. the good of many.

I think I like the Ghostfacer-font. Not sure about the Coven-poster that's seen in the background of the team's lair, though. Even if it keeps stealing the scene all the time. At least according to my eyes.
Timeline detail: happens on February 28th and 29th.
Translation: Dean should be beginning to hear the tick-tock...
Question: Does the year specified in the deal mean 365 days, or a year in the sense of same date? Will Dean's deal come due on May first or second?

Though now I also wonder that since Ed & Harry and co. were in the Teaser (sort of), they're gonna bite it. Because people in teasers die or just get to go through the Crisis of all Crisises (Crises? Crisisi?). This makes me sad. Because I love the Boys with the Flamingoes.
Where are those, btw? Have they abandoned them, all alone and lost in life? Have they lost the fluffy pink side of themselves?
And will Corbett help Ed find that in himself again?

I like the camerawork. I like the fact that the camera's in someone's hands and it shows. It fits the whole general wonderfulness of this ep. *hearts the Outsider POV ep*
And then they pull out Hocus Pocus... which hasn't been one of my most favourite songs ever for no reason, at least as performed by Helloween. *HEARTS* How could I ever doubt our show? It really, really, really loves its fans... My heart's not big enough. Srsly.
Of course Ed and Corbett are a team. *adds glitter to the hearts*

Hell House is the ep where Dean's dislike of said critters was revealed in, btw. So I'm still waiting for the flamingoes.
Come on... I don't need to hear panting while my favourite secondary OTP is romping around in the dark! And I thought movie by the name of The Covenant was bad enough...;)

I shouldn't be getting as big kicks out of the boys cursing as I am... but it fits! What doubles the fun is that a while back, thehighwaywoman had a poll about the boys' cursing habits...
Dear costuming department... if you want people to really stay on the wagon, please be giving Sam some clothes that cover that *lickable* dip between his clavicles, mmmkay? Because it's distracting. Just a little bit.

Methinks I'm in love with bitchy!Sam. Especially when he's throwing around furniture. *supports Sam demolishing things* Though methinks it's sort of hopeless to wish for an episode where Sam'd be doing manual labor wearing a wifebeater...but a girl can dream, right? ;)
*Smishes Sam* I love him when he goes all encyclopedic on us... Anyone written an AU fic where Sam becomes a teacher? Because he'd be bloody good at that.
Side note: I love how consistent they've kept the characters. Sam's willing to explain and think, he's the one who knows. Dean? Dean acts, based on what he knows. He's perfectly willing to let Sam be the Exposition Fairy, while Dean gets the job done.
But changes, too... Sam's telling about the world of supernatural to 'civilians', and Dean's keeping his mouth shut. *flashbacks to 2x12, Nightshifter*
And Dean with his favourite sawed off shotgun! *SMISH*
Is that the same deer head we've seen so many, many times before? I'm saying it is. Must remember to keep my eyes peeled for the sun-mirror-thingy...and the flamingoes.

I like how fast that was. How the case was solved, essentially, without the boys' help. Don't mistake me, I love the boys, I adore it when they get things right, get them done... but this appealed to me so very much, too.

Electromagnetism is a bitch indeed. But all things considered... The boys did the right thing. They're both officially dead, but the FBI would still probably be after their asses if they learned that Dean Winchester's fled certain death twice already.
Doesn't stop me from feeling bad for Ed and Harry and co., though. All that hard work... poor boys.
In conclusion: This is an awesome episode to come back with. It featured everything I could've hoped for, almost. I approve, because my faith in Supernatural? Has been restored.
