I have, on occasion, mentioned going through the First Season with a fine-toothed comb.
Here's a mass of data concerning the Impala that caught my eye during that marathon. Enjoy! :)
( Sam drives the Impala )
Hey, anteka's meta on Dean/Impala can be blamed for this. Because her complaints about Sam not driving the car onscreen during the Second Season made me all thinky about just how much the youngest Winchester's been sitting behind the wheel. While I was watching for those instances, the rest about the car came along matter-of-factly...;)
This will be repeated sometime in the future concerning the Second Season, you know. This show...those boys...What do you mean, they own me?
I love you for your weird brain. I'm also friending you so I can keep up with it! *G*
And how sad is it that Sam never drove in S2? Though I wonder if maybe he's reluctant to do it again ... After all, he was at the wheel when the semi hit them and pretty much tore their world apart. Could be he's just not at all anxious to drive again. That's a helluva traumatic thing to survive - and to do so unscathed while his family is falling apart around him, and ain't that just fodder for fic or meta? LOL!
Thanks for this! Cheers ~
Erin P.S. Bullet decor? You mean Dean's keys have a bullet fob thingie on 'em? Okay, who has a screen cap of Dean's keys! ;-)
Oooh! Yup, that's a rifle bullet, absolutely. I'll have to go dig out my box of .30-30 (wherever it is, I rarely shoot my Winchester because it HURTS!) and see if the rounds look similar. Anyhow, heh heh, it sure fits as a key fob for Dean! *G*
BTW, I hear ya about ruts in writing, but if ever I can help jog any muses for you, in return for all your kindness, just ... ya know give me a shout! :-) I'd be happy to help bounce ideas around.
Okay, almost caught up with posts an emails for now ... *runrunrunrunrun* LOL!

If I'll ever have any questions about guns or the marines, you'll be on the top of my list. :)
And it's not that I wouldn't have plotbunnies, but the bloody things will only tell me the idea, not how to word it well... I guess I'll just have to kick myself a little bit, see what people who've read my earlier stuff will say about the wincesty drabbles I have all written up and ready to go if my inner critic would just shut up... but the Sun here has apparently cooked my brain and running on too little sleep is not probably helping either.
Thank you for the offer, though. And it really wasn't that much of a trouble. You and your mate do the harder part by staring at the pictures and trying to tell the guns apart. :)

I trust you've heard of anteka and her Dean/Impala-meta?
It's a delight for sure, and there are instances where it would make so very much sense...
The bullet with the keys can be most clearly seen in Bloodlust (2x03), when Sam returns to their motel alone.
This is a cropped shot:
