Thing the first-

Please to not be linking back to things said in my LJ. I feel reasonably sure that we are not wankers around here, but hey- it's worth reasserting that we are not jerks.

Thing the second-

So for those idly wondering, why yes! All of this went down approximately ten minutes walk from my apartment. Three of the eight people in ( Read more... )

Shoot, I forgot it was the last weekend...shouldn't have forgotten either, since we've been doing it as my Birthday Weekend Thing for the last two years. Ack! I'll see if I can get a lottery entry in...on one hand it's nice to know that we won't have to make the drive to DC on a hope that we'll get tickets after waiting in the heat.....on the other hand, we've always been able to get tickets by waiting in line, so I'd almost rather just drive it than have to wait til the last minute to know whether we're going! Such is the price one pays when you live in Richmond, I guess, though -- and hey, it's better than the time when it was online and the server just kept crashing and crashing and crashing because everyone was on at once trying to vie for tickets.......so eh, I'll take my chances with the lotto, I guess.

:D

Honestly, though- the standby line is getting seated EVERY NIGHT. If you don't make it in on the lottery, it would 98% likely be worth your time to come in anyway and stand in line. Every show, there are lottery winners who aren't coming, groups who are smaller than they said they would be, etc- if people aren't in their seats by 10 minutes til curtain, their seats are given away. It is anarchy! Anarchy that is all to the benefit of the standby line!

I'll probably give it a try. There's always that worry though of driving all the way to DC just to not get in! *g* That's why we'd always arrive with hours to spare to make sure we were timely enough to reserve a spot...I suppose we could do that for the standby line if necessary...we'll see what happens!

I hope you make it! I think it's worth picking a day and committing- enter the lottery and plan on standing in line if need be. :)
