Ohhhh, sea monsters. I couldn't help myself- I brought up the sea monster angle in class yesterday in our discussion of Neoclassicism. Between that and not being able to resist referencing Tim Curry as Cardinal Richelieu, class was rather a gem ( Read more... )

EXCITING! I am very ill-versed in Wagner. I think I've listened to Tristan back in the days of an undergrad course on 'Women and Opera', and... that's about it. I've never seen any Wagner performed live, even though they went and did the bloody Ring cycle here in DC. WAY TO FAIL. :(
